I recently purchased a house with a flat roofed, unattached, 2 car garage that needs a complete reroof, including decking.
For those who have undergone a complete garage roof tearoff (including decking), what did you need to do to prep? Obviously the cars will need to be moved, but does one have to empty out the garage of the contents?
Reason I ask is that I have other work being done in the main structure, but was hoping I could at least move my garage items before my main move (which is likely going to be before the re-roofing). Most of the stuff I'll be moving is basic garage stuff (e.g. garden tools) and would be easily covered with tarps.
Thanks!
PS...obviously I will ask my roofer as well, but I'm wondering what is common practice.
