I can't think of anyone that wants to face a wall when they are at their desk.

Is this a full time office 9 am to 5pm at the same time there are kids being homeschooled by someone else in the same room? Please explain who uses the room when.

I homeschool my kids and work from home at same time. It’s a home office. So the kids and I all use tbe room at the same time.

What are you wanting to keep what would you be willing able to replace? We also homeschooled our daughter and found solutions that kept things easy to use, a home atmosphere and storage for the clutter. Give us more information children’s ages and must haves, size of room etc

Kids are 9 and 7, room is about 13x13,. what is in is all i need. ( lol i took out everything i didnt need). but feel free to suggest better layout…. adding lamp or a more functional storage….. just want it to look put together…

Add a area rug, curtains and paint an accent wall or put up a fun wallpaper. Add a more substantial storage cabinet (replace the plastic ones). Move the student desks to the middle of the room like a regular classroom. Good luck!

Since you have already removed what you don't need now, you could rearrange the room to be more functional and comfortable.

Move the kids desks to the wall with the tv, facing the window. As BeverlyFLADeziner said, no one wants to face a wall.

Move your desk to the corner to the right of the window, facing into the room, so you can see out the window at least a bit. Your chair goes in the corner, the L desk wraps around it.

Remove the posters and map tacked to the wall and door. Use a bulletin board for posters and map. Remove the small rectangular things (slogans? art?) high up on the walls.

Ask yourself if you really need the tv in here. If you do, fine. If not, remove it.

Move the whiteboard up. Have your 7 year old reach their arm up high: that's where the top of the whiteboard should be. Repeat every year as kids grow.

Decide where to put hooks for backpacks instead of using the knobs on the door.

I would move the printer to the closet to make more floor space in the room, and use that more valuable near-the-window space for the children. It's the brightest area of the room. If there isn't enough room in the closet, take some of the books out and put them on a shelf. I'd rather see books displayed on a long shelf than the printer on display.

Give the children more natural light. Maybe the desks side by side facing the window? Or the desks facing each other at a right angle to the window? If they distract each other then add a low partition or curtain between them.

Would you add more natural light to the room by keeping the white door open?

It would be helpful to know the floor plan of the room and the sizes of the furniture.
