Love exposed studs!

I want to expose the studs in interior walls in my house but I wonder if it will violate any fire code. Residential code says wood frame shall be finished with gypsum, cement board and such but doesn't say it has to be finished at all. Any thoughts?

    We were not required to fire protect wood studs. In fact in Los Angeles there's a whole history from Frank Gehry on of exposed studs in residential (and some commercial) architecture. You might check with your building department. Good luck.
