Hi all,

I recently purchased my first home and love it, except the fireplace drives me crazy! I desperately want to remodel it but am hesitant because I am new/ don't know much about home improvement stuff. I have attached a picture of my fireplace as it is now. It is an electric fireplace. The material that looks almost wood-like is actually tile. I love the look of natural stone / cement fireplaces. I have also include 3 pictures of fireplaces showing the look I am going for. I have been looking on the internet and am seeing tons of different suggestions on how to remodel and achieve this look. One of the easiest seems to be using roman clay? I would love any input or suggestions - is this doable? And how would you suggest going about this?
