When you say zoysia greens back up in spring, is that the old growth turning back green from the brown or does it act like an herbaceous perennial and resume new growth from the roots? Common sense tells me the latter but this is the first year I’m growing it in my lawn and the grass looks more darker yellow and some of the grass is very loose and it kinda clips off when I pull it. It seems to stay fine at the roots but the clippings just rip. They started turning completely brown by mid november so I thought it went dormant but now concered it might be dying. I still see a few green in a few spots here and there though.
