Hello, I am doing a complete bathroom remodel and getting new floors, wall tiles, tub/ shower combo, vanity, and toilet. This will be the only bathroom in the house and plan on being in the house for a very long time. I like the look and feel of the Kohler Underscore 60 x 30 alcove tub. I am a little concerned because my husband is a big guy and we need the tub to be sturdy and to be able to withhold weight. I have a cast iron tub now from the 1950s, but there is a leak and the bathroom is in need to be updated, since its still in the original 1950s style. I like the Underscore because it fits my husband when he is in the tub and the soaking depth of the tub is really nice. We looked at some cast iron tubs too, but they did not have the soaking depth that I prefer and were not as roomy. Any advice on the sturdiness of the Kohler Underscore tub or any advice on a bathroom remodel in general will be very helpful. We are having a reputable licensed contractor do all the work for us.
