I‘d say no…esp with Covid. Find a local company to call in event u have a problem. I bought new Electrolux when i built my house 5 years ago. No problems. Be sure you are not using too much soap, and doing basic maintenance yourself…running clean cycle periodically with bleach or washer cleaner. Also be sure you are leaving the door ajar to dry out..biggest issue people have with front loaders is mold from moisture build up inside machine.

I bought an extended warantee from kitchenaid for a Dishwasher that replaced one that had a literal fire in the control panel (in the middle of the night). They gave me I believe 75% off a replacement that cost about 2000. Fast forward to the pump failing and they couldnt repair it within the alloted time per the warantee. They ended up paying me way more than what I paid for the dishwasher. I always buy the extended warantee because nothing ever goes wrong until 5 years down the road. I dont buy them for anything else but appliances, it always seems to work out for me.

We've had our new Electrolux front load washer and dryer for 3 1/2 years now. We purchased the 3 year extended maintenance and have never had a service call.

You dont need it till you need it lol Those machines are expensive to replace and non covered service not cheap. I hadn electolux dryer that replaced one that bit the dust a few pmonrpths before we sold our home. A month in, the dryer didnt heat. Had to get something replaced.nThey are good but they dont make appliances like they used to.

Avoid washing in cold water to ward-off soil residue accumulating on inaccessible areas ... exterior of the inner drum, interior of the outer tub, and outside surfaces of the door seal that are unreachable for wiping. Think about what happens when dirty dishwater is left cold overnight in a sink ... the greasy scum-line at the water line. Clothes rubbing and tumbling on the interior of the drum keeps residue wiped clear from there but the inaccessible areas get no rubbing or wiping.

Temperatures are dumbed-down nowadays by sensors that monitor and control the incoming water flow. Cycle programming on the control board allows a given temperature choice ... Warm, Hot, whatever ... to be different from one cycle to another. Particularly on the designated Normal cycle (which is the basis for energy ratings), Warm is equivalent to cool, may be 70°F to 80°F. Hot may be between 85°F and 105°F on Normal.

I think people do not understand the whole idea of a front lad washer first you use about a tblsp of detergent any more you run the risk if damage to the machine and BTW that would noyt be covered with the extended warranty I have never had a sevice call for my Bosch front load washer or the dryer in 15 yrs I have never had scum in my washer I do however do bedding ans towels in hot water so maybe that takes care of that. You can cram the washer full of clothes and they get clean and do not get worn out by an agitator I do all my king size bedding all the time .

Good point. We never used to buy the warranties. However, the quality you get these days with most appliances almost mandates it.

BTW, I discovered with our last purchase (washer/dryer) our credit card company would extend the 5-year warranty we purchased by another 2 years free of charge. Worth checking into.

I disagree on the 1 tbsp tenet other than for small/light loads. 1 tbsp would never work here for a full load of my yardwork jeans, or a full load of anything.
