I've never used one. I do try and pay close attention when I am cutting, though.

A few years ago I went to the ER with a deep, clean cut on my left index finger, almost to the bone. while I was quickly cutting a huge number of strips for several quilts. They super glued it closed and afterwards, when I reported my mishap on this forum, several members recommended Klutz gloves. I really try to use one on my left hand, especially if I am tired or cutting lots of strips. The gloves have rubber nubs that help you grip rulers. I think it is well worth the cost IF you remember to put it on.

I do not. I no longer do tons of cutting and try to pay very close attention to where my fingers are. I'm more afraid of dropping the open cutter on my bare feet than cutting my fingers/hand. So, I try to always close the blade before setting it down, and sometimes I put it in an open drawer even if I'm going to use it again.

Not yet. I used to be a chef, so am used to watching my fingers. I once cut off the end of my left index finger while chopping cabbage. I've never done that again.

If you are shakey at all, use it!

I'm very careful when cutting and have never come close to cutting my fingers. Fortunatelly My Olfa rotary cutters close automatically when not in use.

The Klutz glove arrived; I’m not sure I ordered the right size.

I have old, fat, arthritic hands. They swell sometimes. I now wear a size 8.5-9 rings.

Lois, Char, and anyone else that wears these … what size glove do you wear and for hand-size comparison, what size ring do you wear?

I tried measurung my hand as for regular gloves. That was awkward with no helper! It’s about 6 7/8” around.

That glove does look too big. All that extra room in the fingers could lead to clumsy use and a bigger potential for an accident. These gloves have some stretch in them so a smaller size may be better for you.

I'm sympathetic about the arthritis and hand swelling. I can't wear my wedding ring anymore and use one of those stretchy vinyl ones instead. It's not pretty but it felt awkward not to have a ring on that finger! One of these days I'll get my real ring resized!

Caroline, my gloves are not marked for size, but I’m sure I bought the largest ones. I have really big hands and long fingers; I usually wear a ladies 8-1/2 or 9 glove. My hand measures 7-1/2 around. Your gloves look too long in the fingers. Mine are filled all the way to the tips, although the body of the glove is a little too large. I think it’s the fit of the fingers that is the most important. I’d try a size smaller.

There is no size on mine either. I have long, thin fingers and the tips of the first three fit fine, but are longer in the last two. The body of the glove is roomy for me, but the wristband fits snug. I never use the right glove of the pair and I really like the rubber nubs on the palm side for holding rulers down. I don't remember sizing the gloves at all, sorry, but even though it feels a bit large on my hand, I do not have any problem using it.
