Seems busy to me I would prefer horizontal

Vertical siding tends to be more modern, and horizontal siding tends to be more traditional. I have a modern condo with vertical siding. The condos further back in my complex are in a traditional style and they have horizontal siding.

Pretty house. How would it look to have horizontal on the upper peak?

I was just told that the boothbay blue (the broad planks in the board and batten) don't run the height of the house. This means that we might get a joint in the middle (for those planks that need to run the height). Would that implicit joint in the plank look awkward?

When there is a limit to the length of the boards, the architect usually works that limitation into the design of the elevations. See horizontal bands on the drawing below that account for limitations in the length of material.

@BeverlyFLADeziner well, in my case, either the architect's plan changed because i chose another siding color or they just missed including the band. If i were to get a horizontal band, i thought the band should be in the contrasting color of the window trims (white). would that be a bad idea?

Sumod, I don’t have a program to draw that for you; maybe someone else will. You could print out what you have and hand draw it horizontally to see.
