I would use black wall brackets and g1/2" thick glass were it me.

So many directions you could go, based on functionality, how the rest of the space will be decorated, etc. If possible, you might want to wait until the rest of the room is finished.

My mind always goes to budget. I've recently priced some tempered glass for shelves and they aren't cheap. I think glass or wood would look good, you might let your budget guide you.

Thanks for the helpful input. I really like the look of glass shelves and I’ve been thinking about wallpaper on that wall too for additional interest. The space is almost finished & a sectional has been ordered. I’ll talk some more photos to add when I get back home to show the whole area.

I think I'd lose the 4" slab backsplash and put in a tiled wall instead, just on the back wall. Then you could add glass shelving or wood shelving on top. Get stainless brackets to match the wine fridge finish.

I’m thinking of these fun chairs for a pop of color around the table. The other view is of the credenza above which a tv will be hung.

A few ideas:

Do the entire bar area in green, whether it be tile, paint, or wallpaper. And glass or green wood shelves (same as your cabinet color).

Or, seeing more of the room, I also like both of Diana’s photos … with natural wood shelves.

The all green is a bit more glam, the natural look is more casual and ties in well with the other decor. It just depends on the feel you want.

ETA: I love antiqued mirrors behind shelves, too:

FWIW - possibly give consideration to an upward opening cabinet. You’ll have easy access to items and eliminate lots of dusting.

Circling back to share where we are with this project. Found these cool shelves & wallpaper at the Anthropology Outlet in Pittsburgh when visiting my daughter & we installed today. It’s coming together!
