Why this particular floor . IMO so many flooring companies why not just find one that is tried and true.

Good question. My GC recommended provided me with a few samples of lalegno and other companies, and both wife and I liked this one.

I realize this is an old post but wondering if anyone has comments.
We like the color Lalegno offers.
Has anyone installed it yet?
Looking for a more traditional floor in a medium brown color. Very difficult to find in the market place at the moment. Everything is light colored and liens farmhouse.
Any timeless, classic suggestions would be welcome.
Currently looking at classic Nero.
Also, California Classic
Vinoros. Which is more golden than we really want.

Canadian Mill Preverco offers several classic brown shades in their oak collections. I particularly like the Soho Rift & Quartered White Oak.

We built in 2021 and put in Duchateau (Riverstone Collection, color Sava) engineered wood floors. They have a hard-wax oil finish.

We have been in the house 2.5 years and very happy with the floors (we have 3 dogs).

How is the maintence with an oiled floor? I have read they take more work to maintain.

Here are the two products you need to maintain Duchateau oil floors:

1. DuChateau Premium Floor Cleaner
2. DuChateau Maintenance Oil Clear

It takes a little more work, but if you stick to it, you'll have a naturally beautiful floor. Essentially, there's no need to resand and refinish an oiled floor.

I did research for poly vs oil when looking at floors and there didn't seem to be any middle ground! Floor dealers either hated one or the other. I read actual owner reviews on hard-wax oil floors and the majority were happy with their choice and the way their floors were wearing.

I have the two DuChateau products and the floors get vacuumed and cleaned every week. I have only used the oil for a couple of touch-ups in 2.5 years. One area was under my rolling desk chair and the other where I have two dog beds.

At the 5 year mark I plan to call my installer to do a more thorough re-coat with the oil in the main living areas, and will have to move furniture and rugs out of the way. An easy refresh compared to poly floors.
