We have a RNB 48 inch bought in 2019 and the doors definitely don’t get hot enough to burn someone.

I have the RNB 36" for 4 yrs now. It definitely doesn't get hot on the oven door or frame. When the oven door is lowered the inside upper edge of the door will burn you if you lean against it to get something out of the oven....BTDT . You can put your hand anywhere you want on the front/sides of the range and it is barely warm.

I am editing to add that I read these amazing complaints on here about the Blue Star and the folks at the company. I just don't know where int he world all that anger and upset is coming from . It has been an amazing range since .day 1. When I had one of the tiny knobs come off that turns on the light they sent me another on because I lost the one that came off. The range is used SO much in this house as I bake all our bread weekly and cook from scratch at least two meals a day on it. My DH stir fries with his 52 yr old wok on the right from high heat burner and is very pleased with the outcome. We have the open burners and have no problem keeping the range clean. We have the 1400 cfm Blue Star blower above. It works great !!! Absolutely no odor period when we cook...none. You do have to clean it if you are using oil, as we are, and the grids are perfect after being run in the dishwasher. If you have any other questions please ask. c

I’ve read complaints on here about the broiler function. Trailrunner, what are your thoughts?

It has not been remedied. we have an electric wall oven bought this year and we are tslking burn and fire hazard. not happy with BlueStar support on the matter they say they will either authorize a refund or do an exchange but only if i sign an agreement that if the replacement has the same problem they will not fix it, refund or exchange it, or be liable for injury or property damage.

I realize these posts are old but I want to warn others. We just finished a kitchen reno and purchased the 30” Bluestar induction range and at first enjoyed using the cooktop. Used the oven the other day and the door and knobs were dangeroulsy hot to the touch. The adjacent cabinet drawers were also very hot. A tech came out and connected with Bluestar and they said as long as the exterior temp doesn’t exceed 95 degrees then it is functioning properly. The oven was set at 450 and reached 94.5 degrees and the Bluestar rep said the oven is fine. That is insane to me! What if want to cook something at 475? I found some older comments claiming that yes the door and knobs get hot but just try not to touch them and teach your kids not to touch them. Sure I can tell my son to stay away but even after the oven is off, the knobs stay hot for a long time and I fear my cabinets will eventually warp from that kind of heat exposure. We are very disappointed and looking to exchange for a different brand.

We have 2 Blue Star ranges at 2 different homes and I don't have a single complaint about either of them. Neither are induction so perhaps that is a different issue. We've had a 30" Platinum for 9 years at our primary home and 30" RNB at our other place for 4 years. DH often bakes bread in the oven and uses the high BTU burner for wok cooking. The broiler works fine.

One of my favorite features about the RNB is that we paid for the option of having the door swing open rather than drop down - makes cleaning so much easier.

Both ranges have BlueStar hoods.
