Does it stick out from under the spread or duvet? If yes, then it is too long.

@decoenthusiaste We live in a hot amd humid climate and this is the only cover that we use most of the time. HowHoweve, the duvet would be shorter when we use it (about 1 month/year).

Not too big! Minimalist bedding like that is "in" and it's meant to drape the whole bed to the floor.

We live in a hot and dry climate. We use a single blanket as our bed cover and get it long like that.
If you like it, it is fine.

If it’s a stretchy waffle weave, take it back. It’s not comfortable to sleep under because it presses down on you due to the stretch.

I like it when a bed cover goes to the floor. Then you don't have to get a bed skirt or dust ruffle.

I have a 48 inch bed (smaller than a double) and my cover is a queen size. To the floor. Much better than short. I have a foldable blanket that I put at the end ready for colder nights. Not sure about your waffle weave. Material is a bit wimpy looking.

The drop is way too long. These days, besides having the mattress size (king, queen, etc.), you have to measure the height of the bed. Then, when shopping in store or online, check the measurements of the new bedding.

Textile manufacturers are in a bind because of the ridiculous variation in bed height these days. Buying the thickest mattress set and adding a thick mattress pad for another 2" of height may require a short person to use a stool to climb into bed. At the other side of the equation, mattress makers offer low height box springs to accommodate high mattresses. If one has an older headboard, going with a thick mattress and thick box spring can cause half of the headboard to be covered.

I like the top layer of bedding oversized like you've shown the blanket. That way when my husband yanks the covers I don't get completely uncovered. I think what you're showing is just fine if it works for you.

What are you trying to cover, the bed frame?

I've mentioned this bedspread before and it sounds as if I am getting a "kick back", LOL, but I love this cover, from Amazon and it is heavy enough for the winter and light enough for summer. Easy to launder and dry and comes in 16 colors.

I don't use the matching pillow cases because they look too cute and fussy. I go on etsy.com and buy three euro shams..two on headboard, one in front in the middle of the two.

If the wider one works better for sleeping, I’d keep. But no matter which size you decide on, it will look nicer layered/turned down. Try layering both sizes to help you decide.

You could also tuck in the sides and when winter duvet is added, it will have even more of a lovely balanced look.
