Hardwood refinish...is this right?

Hello Houzz community. I've seen a lot expertise and help on these boards. It's much appreciated for me and many others.

I'm in need of advice. I hired my first contractor ever to refinish my floors who was recommended by my boss's neighbor. I didn't really know what to look for but overall the floors looked good and he did a lot of work and we have a 100 year old house so i chalked any issues up to the old house and i paid the guy. Since then, some issues have been pointed out and I did some research and while I don't want to be a perfectionist, i am disappointed because now I see them and I believe that it was subpar work and should have been avoided (He wasn't particularly cheap at $4.5/sqft). I let him know and he said he would come look. Here are the issues and hopefully Houzz community can give guidance if I'm exaggerating or what exactly i should request from him. I suppose the only leverage i have is i can leave a low review.

Again, I want to be fair and overall i think they look good.

Here is one good picture.

Now, the first big issue is the edge of that room looks like it had bad edging, mainly when light is shining on it. It looks terrible at this angle.

Then there are the occasional gouges

And there is more unevenness in the hallway edging.

Looking backwards from that poorly edged corner all he edging seems uneven:

And that hallway appears to have some dark stains that really come out at night. And you can see more uneven edging in the doorway on the right.

There was also a little debris in the finish among a couple other things.

Anyways, he's been receptive about coming to look at least and he mentioned that fixing the edging might not match perfectly with the rest of the floor. From what I've read really fix it the whole area would have to be resanded, and there is probably 500sqft between the two rooms downstairs if he would have to do that and we would probably both like to avoid that. But i would also like to get what i paid for. The hallway seems easier. What's the Houzz advice? Thank you so much!
