Me too and it nees to be high enough to allow the lid to open so IMO pretty close to uselss for much even folding . If you want some real help post pics in a commnet here do not start another post .Give us some idea of what you want the shelf for

It would just about have to be hinged, and with no cabinet above it in order to open the washer fully, not need a third hand to hold the lid for clothes. These washers these days are taller! My last top load barely clears the upper cabinet with the lid raised. And it was luck, I hadn't measured or even considered the height. Do you have a picture of your set up, maybe we could find something comparable and workable.

Countertops are not even good ideas for front loaders. The machines do not need any restrictions on moving them in and out for regular maintainence and service.

Get a hinged shelf instead

Hinge a shelf, or lift it off ( below ) to load a washer........ depends what you're needing it for

True. Over the years, I've had to unplug our previous and current FL washers a few times just to let its internal computer reboot/reset when things went wonky. There is no way I could have wrestled it out from under stationary countertop.

Cavimum, flipping the breaker does the same thing. Of course doing that with the breaker doesn't provide the same guilt ridden opportunity to vacuum under the appliance, but its fast and efficient.
