Needing urgent help about a dogwood tree.

I bought and planted a dogwood tree from Walmart within the last month. Everything was great for the first 3 weeks it was healthy and thriving. Last week was 6 days of rain and now my tree's leaves are all wilted. I don't want to lose this tree because it was expensive and a gift for my mom on mother's day. Is there anyway this inexperienced gardener can save this tree. Thank you for any help given.

Yeah Stormie, that is backwards of what you'd expect. Hopefully it rebounds.

How large of a tree is it and what was your pre storm watering cycle?

what is your basic soil type.. clay?? .. does it drain.. or was it sitting in a 6 day rain puddle for ethe entiere time..

consider doing a perc test .. and telling us the results..
