In what way do you consider environmental humidity level as relevant to washer & dryer selection?

It greatly affects the efficiency of the dryer. My current dryer vents outside and it takes forever to dry, especially towels!

Does this mean that you do not have space for standard-size appliances which are commonly 27" wide and 31" deep? Compact appliances are commonly 24" wide and 23-26" deep.

Currently have standard size. Would like to move the washer/dryer to a different spot, possibly a closet. I don’t do large loads there.

I just got the LG washtower for a small apartment. I'm loving it. It holds full size loads but the foot print of the machine is very minimal. Highly recommend.

Humidity as such shouldn't have an appreciable effect on a vented gas or electric dryer, unless 1) the machine is installed in a space that isn't climate-controlled, 2) the exhaust ducting is a long run and/or is obstructed in some way. Non-vented condensor dryers are more likely to be affected by ambient humidity.

The entire path of the exhaust, from the connection behind the dryer to the exit of it outside the house? Is poor drying performance of the current machine a factor in seeking a new one?

It was cleaned out by a professional. But the main reason I want a new machine is that I want it in a different room, it is in the kitchen under a counter. It isn't use very often so I don't need a full size machine.
