So the door on the right in your first picture is the entrance to your house? The issue is not just that the room is small, but that you're limited to furniture that won't block the path from the front door to the dining room/stairs/etc.

I'm not sure what you mean by "lounge" (a recliner? a sectional?) but would you consider a curved loveseat or small sofa in front of the fireplace? The curved footprint would give you seating and the ability to curl up for a nap, but still leave room to walk around the sofa to the French doors.

I'm not sure what the measurements of your room are, but I was thinking of something like this: https://www.wayfair.com/furniture/pdp/willa-arlo-interiors-shurtz-67-velvet-curved-loveseat-w005270346.html

I remember your previous posts. Looks good! You didn't ask but my eye wants to see a division from the front door. Bookcase or something that doesn't take up too much space.

I remember this room which was posted about a year ago? I had sent suggestions with illustations but too long ago so can't find it!

Yes I want a couch that I can lay and sleep on … I put a tv above the fireplace and want to make this a very comfy room

Also would like some different (affordable) curtain options for that window

Are you against a Costco recliner?

What are you looking for? You've had some good suggestions on your other 2 or 3 posts about this room. Why not start with a small sofa?

Antique mirror is wasted in the corner, it needs to be next to the door.

Not sure where you'd put it. Costco has this chair and a half for $599.

STAND IN EACH OF THE FOUR CORNERS OF THE ROOM. TAKE A PHOTO FROM EACH CORNER SO ALL FOUR SIDES OF THE SPACE ARE SHOWN. INCLUDE MEASUREMENTS IF YOU WANT PEOPLE TO TELL YOU WHETHER YOUR TWO CHAIRS CAN FIT. We can't see the full wall on the left.

Here is a daybed sofa with a low back from West Elm. Since you haven't shown us enough pictures or given measurements, we have no idea of how to place the furniture.

How come you are not responding to questions or suggestions? Seems rude.

Paul f I have responded several times in this thread … take a peek.. business name placeholder, you are the reason I got the zebra rug! I want a very comfortable sofa that I can lounge and sleep on in front of the fireplace

@Julia Stoklosa: You have a fireplace? How would we know that? Not enough photos, no measurements, and you want advice about a sofa? We don't even know what will fit in that space because the invisible fireplace wall isn't shown. The French door wall isn't shown except from outside an adjoining room visible from the living room area. Note: visible adjoining spaces to any room need to be considered when making design decisions.

Stop with the new posts on the same old room

@Patricia Colwell: Agreed. Some of these posters need a Design Dilemma Boot Camp.

    1. One thread for the same room so Commentors don't have to dig back or repeat their suggestions.

    2. Must take pictures of all four walls of an entire space.*

    3. Must provide measurements.

    4. State the feeling and function they want for the space.

5.. Mention budget, dealbreakers, and restrictions (ex: keeping wood cabinets no matter what).

    5. Define whether they 're looking for approval for something already decided or whether they're open to suggestions they might not have considered.

    6. Consider that the problem they've identified may not be the actual problem that outside Commentors see.

*When asking about a house exterior, take shots from far away so Commentors can see setting, neighbors, then closeup about ten feet away, then very closeup of materials, specific problem, etc.

Sorry but without measurements of the room impossible to make any precise useful suggestions.

Julia - How would you know if the sofa is comfy if you don't try it out in person? Are there any furniture stores that you can go to?

@Julia: just do your own search for "daybed sofa" or "daybed couch" and stop expecting Houzz to give you help when you don't supply the most basic visual information or measurements on top of starting a second posting.

    Yes, 'comfy' ain't cutting it.

Ok please do not respond on this thread any longer it is no longer a positive thread.

I t looks like you have room for a small sectional. I would place it where the chaise is with the L used as a bit of a divider for the entry. A curved one looks softer if you can size it so you can lie down. Having an upholsyered piece kind of envelop you from both sides of the room will feel cozy.

I can’t get my pics to post above:

Not sure why people feel the need to scold you for posting again instead of them just scrolling on by. They offered their advice and for some reason you’re looking for more. They can easily skip your posts. It is sometimes impossible to search and find previous posts, but if you click on your profile you can look for posts you started.

@olychick: Julia was asked repeatedly for more photos of the entire space and measurements and did not supply them, yet wants recommendations of sofas when no one knows what's on all the walls and how much space she has. It wasn't just about starting a new thread but about not disclosing information, so we all soured on the thread and are outta here now.

We want to help, Julia, but you have to correspond with us. At least give the dimensions of the room.

Post pics of rooms that you like and sofas that are interesting.

I can do that but I need some time to get the dimensions and such.

Julia I know what it is like to leave a project from busy life frustration etc. Of course you keep coming back to a difficult area and seem to make no headway for quite a while. Eventually you recognize what you like and what you can afford and it just all starts to come together. This place is very helpful for that but requires fairly detailed information.

It really is a matter of; to get the best help get dimensions. So glad you are doing that. Get help from a friend to hold the tape measure. Remember to measure windows and walls and entrances.

Also make sure that your colour scheme is noted. You have to know marginally at least what you like. If you are eclectic you have to carefully select your furnishings. That is why a lot of people will say neutral on the big stuff. Colourful on the art and other decorations.

As a non-pro eclectic collector that is not my advice but you do what feels good but as importantly works well for you and your household.

All that said I do think it's important to have (some) character and not just soothingness. Of course that's me.

Good luck and I hope you make some headway this go round!
