Despite my persistent requests for self-leveling prior to and during the installation, the contractor ignored my concerns and instead used leftover mortar from tile work to patch low spots. This method was not to my liking, and when I pressed for self-leveling products, I was dismissed and told that the unevenness was too severe for such materials—which I suspect is due to the contractor’s unfamiliarity with self-leveling techniques.

The floor remains noticeably uneven, with over one-inch disparities in some areas. With the renovation nearing completion and final payment pending, I’m extremely frustrated by the subpar work. The unevenness is intolerable, and I worry it will cause the flooring to fail.

I need advice on how to address this with the contractor, especially with the final review of the work imminent. Any suggestions for remedying the situation would be greatly appreciated.

Also, can anyone recommend Flooring Installer in Vancouver, Canada? If my contractor refuses or simply not capable to fix the mess, I need to find someone qualified.
