It's a powder room or a bathroom, which? in full view of a front entry that seems to have a light tile floor? Why not repeat that tile if still available? ( Otherwise? More contrast, and darker would be better)

A smashing wallpaper could be nice.

Getting in the habit of closing the toilet lid would be VERY good........

I don't like that stone-look tile. It looks dirty.

I wouldn't want a vanity that barely has any counter space to place a soap dispenser or tissue box.

Are the new tiles going on the floor or walls or both?

I agree with chispa about the dirty looking tile. Would personally prefer tile with a cleaner look. This appears to be a powder room instead of a full bath. I usually suggest that powder rooms are where you should really get wild with design. It is a perfect place for bold wallpaper, drenched color and wonderful textures.

It's difficult to say without sample tiles in your space next to the hallway tiles, but it could be a "near miss" look. The checkered tile appears cooler than your hall tile on my monitor.

If you can't extend the hall tile into the half bath (floor continuity is preferred), then I'd opt for a contrasting darker tile to avoid a matching, but near miss outcome. I see a curved archway and traditional style door beyond the bath so your home is traditional/transitional in style? Perhaps a herringbone layout though that vanity obviously leans very modern.

I am not sure what you are working with is this a full bath or a powder room ? I rarely like square tiles and for sure not buy ones like those You have tile outside this space show us those a bit closer . So a bit more info for sure .

1. It seems you already started another post about this and that you have already purchased these floor tiles. Is that correct? If so, take them out of the box and lay them out in a diamond checkerboard pattern in here and take another picture to show us. I don't love the random orange looking tiles in the picture. How many of them are in your box?

2. I think the size of your vanity is fine. You can certainly put hand soap on it and the drawers will give you good storage. It looks like the white top might clash with your toilet color. Are you going to replace the toilet or leave it? Is it cream rather than white? Can't tell from the pic.

3. What wall color and mirror do you want? Will you be adding other lighting or just using the current overhead?

18x18 tiles might be too large for this space.

Ahhh I think you’ll regret asking that haha so I originally bought 12x12 black and white tiles but then I got nervous because I’m a little worried that I won’t be happy with the outcome or maybe it would be to much ….this picture was my inspo (the calcatta vanity is out of my price range) but I liked the floating vanity idea..I’m also attaching a picture of tiles that I currently have boxed in my garage lol

Use the black and white, get a smashing wall paper. Get a new vanity . Yes, DO please close the darn lid on the potty or tell us you did, because planet earth need not peer into it, clean or otherwise. It has a lid, for a reason.

@jan …. Thank god for returns. Obviously renovating our home is a big decision for me so I’d like for it to be perfect hence all the tiles. We’ve covered the toilet situation already - thanks though! I’ll be sure to post an after …new toilet, with the toilet seat down, sheesh.

Do guests who spend the night use that bathroom? If so the lack of counter space at the sink is a problem I’ve encountered and don’t recommend it.

Your inspiration photo is gorgeous. The walls and trim are quite traditional, the fixtures are more modern, but it all works. I'd go for the black and white in a heartbeat over the first ones you posted. Use the vanity you like, and then paint the walls that green. Or do wainscoting on the bottom and wallpaper above. Unlaquered brass faucet and accessories, and you're done.

Have you purchased the vanity yet? I really like this size of the piece, that it floats, and the storage, it but I am not getting the wood with the black and white or grey and white. Your inspiration pic is wonderful, and while I'm sure you know that you are not going to get that exact look, I'd hate for you to assemble all of these pieces and realize that it misses the mark by a lot. Did you try to find a floating vanity with a dark wood, or in black, or grey, even white?

Look at this pic. Pay attention to the sliver of wood flooring at the bottom of the pic. I just don't get anything from seeing the light wood and grey and white checks. Plus, the grey of your tile is even more washed out than this black-ish grey marble.

I like the dark wood vanity. I know storage is not your concern here but it looks like it holds a lot too, which is never a bad thing.

The white has storage as well (which is definitely a plus- always need extra storage space) I think I like the dark better also just hoping it goes well with the black and white tiles …thank you!
