I woul do a nice piece of art instead of a mirror and choose a color from the art for the rug right now a bit boring and could be quite a bit nicer with some color

The narrow console table doesn't coordinate well with the current color scheme or style of the entryway. Instead of a solid piece I will suggest a glass top console with a metal base that is mostly open.

You could look at doing a rug with a bit of color, depending on what else is around in that area and what colors you're using in the rest of the house. Here are a few ideas for you:
