Before I worried on the corner? I'd be in the market for a different rug - more color. What's there is in conflict with tile floor and the warm tone of furnishings. Also some art, one large piece over couch needing no glass.......and hence no glare.

First lower the art no matter how high the ceiling art is still hung for humans to enjoy and not every corner needs decor . It is near a window get a nice large REAL plant and IMO no space for seting that would make sense.

A console table or a bench on the wall with the painting.

If interested, I’d remove the art and center them side by side over the couch, which will open up options for the corner, but also create a less busy couch wall. You have a lot of the same art throughout and feels a bit overwhelming. Height is important as well.

Regarding the corner…how functional or decorative do you want? Do you like plants, would you like a bookcase/reading corner, a bar or desk area, or just a chair/bench and art? Decide on how you want to use and then look on line how it was pulled together. Your pictures are deceiving so wonder if your TV could go there and place one of the removed art pieces on fireplace.

With some minor tweaks the room could look more pulled together.

I don't think the area rug is doing the room any favors. 8x10 size would be better and a pattern with some orange would raise the level of the room.

The two framed red images IMO are mounted too high on the wall. I lowered them an then added the additional lounge chair.

But I'll say this? I don't really understand the leather sofas, or the chocolate leather mix on them.

Reds and oranges advance to our eyes, you clearly love the colors !. But the artwork here, is reading 'I want to fill wall space" .....much of it is not necessary,or has perhaps a better spot.

Start with a rug you love, and go from there..... if the corner is making you crazy? Lower the art, add a fluffy plant.

She only asked about the corner, peeps…🤦🏼‍♀️ she didn’t ask for a complete redo of her living room, which in my opinion looks great. Lovely space and a nice eclectic collection of art. I personally think the pillows work fine as well as the rug. Could there be other choices? There’s always 1 million choices in decor. Maybe we could stay with the original question before she gives up on Houzz.

Sooo… that’s my rant, and I’m sticking to it. On the topic of the CORNER…🤪 I think the placement of the artwork depends to a certain extent on what happens there. I like the idea of a chair, a reading, light, and a side table that’s been suggested. However, I’d like to sit in a corner and read and have a cup of tea. So it depends on living style and habits. If extra seating in that corner is never going to be used, then opt for something less expensive.

A plant is a nice idea, but I don’t see any other plants in the space and not everybody wants to look after some thing. So again depends on the lifestyle of the OP.

I very much like your style by the way… ❤️ personal and it doesn’t look like it came out of a catalog. The other option I can think of is some kind of storage. A small Console under the art, with a smaller plant by the window? So maybe think about what you need and then use that corner for that purpose. It would make a great corner for a play centre for small kids in the living space.

Personally, I think a neutral rug on the floor is fine and the texture adds just enough interest and pattern. I don’t think it needs a statement rug, the art in the room provides lots of visual interest.

Thanks for posting a straight on view of the corner! That’s very helpful. Maybe something like this… as that corner is fairly near the entrance… would be useful. A place to drop and pick things up on the way in and out of the house as well. (With less decor objects on it). And built-in storage. Something a little rustic, that complements the leather and other textures you have going on in the room.

That’s a Wayfair piece by the way.

Also, thinking ahead, if you put up a Christmas tree, that would be a great corner for that so you could give some long-term consideration to seasonal adaptability.

You could remove what’s over the sofa and hang the vertical piece (not too high) on the wall in the corner and then put a console under it. Remove the square art from the wall in the corner and hang side by side over the sofa.

If you’re up for it, follow Beverly’s idea first. Then a corner chair like she recommended will be fun to shop for.
