schaub heathrow in satin brass is offered @myknobs. Is there a reason you want a "copycat" ?

You want a copycat because the original is too expensive? You don’t need language, try a google image search. You may not find exactly what you want, but you might get close. If you don’t have a lot of cabinets and don’t need a ton of pulls, consider pushing the budget for the pulls you want, and trying to save on something you care less about. Good luck!

Amerock has a lg number of NOT too expensive styles. is pricing the issue? Just offhand the search under "gold" in their filter yields result of CALIBER style handle. I see Appoint and Exceed styles also. You should find something.

When you use the Google Image Search Feature you will see lots of choices of duplicates. You are the one that will determine what meets your requirements.

Thank you all! yes, a copycat is mostly due to budget. I need about 16 pulls in various sizes and 40 knobs. This is my first new kitchen ever and i just feel so guilty spending so much on cabinet hardware and i dont really have a basis of comparison for whats ”good enough.” if i could find a good sale or coupon code i might feel better about Schaub Heathrow .

I think i need to improve my google image search skills . im getting lots of square pulls when i search but not the rounded beveled im looking for. i did find some home depot liberty brand pulls that were close but im a little worried about quality and matching my kohler modern brass faucet.

im going to look onto tha suggestions here as well. thanks again for the help!

There is a reason some expenzive things do not have a copy cat I like a pull that is as smooth as possible for ease of cleaning and IMO the whole gold toned hardware thing will be long gone soon . Too many tones they don't match and you make yourself crazy . Show us your kitchen please in a pic posted here in a comment DO NOT start another post or this one will be lost to refer to. Why so many knobs it is always good to see the space and if it is not done yet you are choosing hardware too early .

Hardware is expensive; great hardware can be really expensive but it lasts forever. I’m going to go out on a limb and say I’ve not seen anything with quite the same angles as the Schaub & Co. Heathrow. It’s beautiful, but honestly, it is not so pretty that it would tempt me. My thing is tile. Your thing might be hardware.

    $36/pull x 16 pulls = $576

    $20/knob x 40 knobs = $800

    Total = $1,376

That’s probably less than most people spend on a sink, but hardware is much more visible. And again, good quality hardware is going to be expensive whether you get what you want or not, and you still have to buy 56 pieces total. Instead of $1,376 you may be able to find what you need for $1,000. Is it worth the time you will spend looking for it?It’s not about feeling guilty, it’s about spending your resources (including your time) where you will get the most out of them.

@Patricia Colwell Consulting: My kitchen is not yet finished. I still need to have the cabinets painted. I was told that I would need to have the hardware installed prior to painting to prevent splintering and chipping while trying to drill holes over paint.

@eam44. I see your point. I'm actually starting to wonder if my issue is that I don't love anything enough to pay a certain price for it and many of the lines have pulls that look similar. The Heathrow was very different from what I had seen but I'm not sure I even love that one enough.

Careful of any pull with those extending ears. If you are using them at drawer level they can catch pockets and aprons. The husband and I have twice lived in apartments with them and vowed to never use them in our home.

I had hardware with the extended ears in my last kitchen and NEVER AGAIN. As Hallett correctly points out, they catch on clothing.

Spend some money on your hardware - the cheap stuff often has to be replaced sooner rather than later (color wears off) and then you've not saved anything. Also, as a percentage of your total kitchen budget, it's not all that much $.

Why do they need to be copycat? Can you not find the Schaub and Company Heathrow pulls?

I think OP means that she needs to pick the exact hardware so the correct holes can be drilled before the doors are painted. Makes sense if they think they might do any damage if doing them afterwards.

I hope it doesn't mean the painter is actually going to leave the new hardware on, cover with tape and attempt to paint around them!

My GC had the cabinet people come back to do the hardware on my new kitchen. He said the extra cost was worth it to avoid any accidents if done by others in his crew.

I have bar pulls with very small "ears" (Emtek Select) on cabinets and appliances, and have never once caught a pocket. However, I'm sure everyone moves around their kitchen differently so YMMV.

If you're concerned about catching, you could look for a bar pull without the ears. For example, the Lydia from Top Knobs has a hexagon shape that is a bit similar to the Schaub Heathrow, but with no ears and comes in many finishes. I'd recommend ordering samples of several different styles so you can get a feel for the pulls in person. (I ordered and rejected several because of the feel, and because in person they looked skimpier.) Tip: check the return policy first. I made the mistake of taking one pricey appliance pull out of the plastic sleeve, then belatedly checked the return policy that said the plastic must be unopened. Tip 2: if you open the sleeve from the very end, you can carefully iron it shut again. (Don't ask me how I know.)

PS - Long shot, but if you happen to be in the Chicago area, I got my pulls from a dealer who has a mobile showroom - his truck has hundreds of samples of cabinet pulls, knobs, and door knobs. It was great to have him come to my house after I visited multiple showrooms and ordered many samples. (I had a spreadsheet with about 40 rows of different pulls. Maybe I'm picky? But all those pulls and knobs add up so you want something you'll be happy with!)

Voice of reason here. I too can not see spending $1300 on hardware. We did a facelift nearly 20 years ago and I replaced my hardware. I needed 80 handles. I purchased, I think, Amerock from a hardware store as I recall at $4 a piece. It is still perfectly fine. I don't understand what people are doing that their knobs and handles are not lasting. While I could afford to spend more, the frugal person in me said why?

It's all relative to what you spent on your kitchen. If 1300 is a small percentage and you can afford it, go for it. Although it does sound like you are looking for a more reasonable facsimile. If it is more of a stretch to your budget, you need to decide if you can live with less.

    Thanks all!

@HALLETT & Co. and BPMPA, I think we may be going with no extending ears. after all.

@chispa is correct. The painters would like the knobs and handles drilled and/or installed so the holes are placed prior to painting. They will uninstall any hardware on the cabinets and drawers and reinstall when done.

@chicagoans, I do like the Lydia but my husband seems to like Top Knobs Kent pulls. We have vastly different styles but I'm thinking of ordering this one for him and hoping it works and that I like it enough. My worst fear is that the honey bronze won't match my faucet and/or won't match the honey bronze knobs we bought from Top Knobs (though theoretically they should be the same color).

@RNmomof2 zone 5 I think I found some decent ones for a total of $800... we shall see when I get them.

Agree with Hallett. I am not a fan of "bar pulls" w/ the extended ears. Total clothes grabber.

    Go to Hardware Resources.

They have a satin bronze that isn't too yellowy/trendy! It's a really pretty finish and more timeless than the brushed or satin gold finishes.

Here are a few bar pulls you can research at Hardware Resources:

Pictured is Sutton in Satin Bronze - 128mm size. Price is about $9 each. I believe the Gibson is even less.

    • Hayworth
    • William
    • Whitlock
    • Naples/Key West

If you'd rather go with a regular handle, not a bar pull w/ ears....check out these:

    • Gibson
    • Sutton
    • Belcastel
    • Bremen
    • Alvar

The website prices are full list. If you can find a dealer that carries them, you can find them for less than online prices maybe. Where are you located?
