^ agree I would invest in landscaping, I’d also be tempted to have the garage doors the same color as the house so they don’t stand out so much but that’s just a me thing

agree with @la_la Girl I would plant a colorful tree out front. Crepe Myrtle?

an awning over the front door?

The front door feels lost and if possible/and budget allowed, consider a more inviting entry, including landscaping. Something similar to photo would suit your home.

A much more in mpressive entry for sure that looks like the back door. As for anything else what is it you don't like . For me a typical "modern farmhouse " style not much character in most of those . I think landscaping and improving the entry will give you the best bang for your buck and a MUCH larger patio

Thank you for the feedback! So many great ideas! We have had people in the past recommend a wrap around porch but we are just not feeling that idea. Love the idea of a more grand entry. Any ideas of one that would work well with this house? And yes! A larger patio is also a plan we would love to make happen!

I agree with la_la Girl, the garage doors need to be painted the same color as the house. Right now those black holes are commanding all the attention. Painting them, landscaping, and painting the front door will make a huge difference.

Here is a similar home. If you keep the dark garage doors, I would recommend you paint the frames dark on the windows. You require qa canopy over the entrance door.

Gutters and fascia should match, so paint the fascia, and paint the downspouts the body color.

Paint the trim around windows and doors.

    Why the one white window?

If the house were red and there was a flagpole in front it could be a fire station.

Or it could be Joe's Auto Repair with Joe living somewhere within.

This is an experiment trying to visually reduce the mass of the structure and separate it into two parts by painting the center dark. I did the shed roof structure on the left dark too, and would probably do the chimney as well.

Adding a roof across the front on the right helps it look more like a home.

I also increased the height of the front door as it looks rather lost as is.

As others suggested, paint the door something other than white or black, and work on landscaping.

So funny! Definitely won’t install a flagpole in the front yard with its current design 😆

    A brightly colored front door and L O T S of landscaping!

What is the tall dark rectangular thing on the left? Is it a door for an RV garage? I'd paint it the same color as the house bc I don't think you want to draw attention to it.

Extending porch across the human garage, with matching over the patio on the side - both to bring down scale of disproportionate fenestration. Black gutters seem to want a dark fascia and then posts. Bringing the existing dormer/gable horizontal lap siding down on the large gables to reduce massing height. Matching window style.

I would address the mishmash style of windows.....that would drive me crazy. Yes to the need for more impressive entry/porch and then a major landscape plan implemented.
