IMO the landscaping is a bit sad for such a large house but I need to see the whole yard from further back to really help there . I would not do anything to the brick around the windows and when the time comes to do the windows a darker window would be nice . Tall plnaters filled with seasonalplants on each side of the garage door a larger light in the entry ans those side lights the same color as the door

Your landscaping is a big improvement. A pergola over the garage would soften the look of your honking garage. I hope this trend of prioritizing where cars live (garage) over where people live (house) makes me ballistic.

You have planting beds on each side of the garage so you might be able train a vine to grow over a pergola.

Another enhancement could be trellis on the wall next to the walkway. Check "trellis against brick wall" on Pinterest for more ideas about trellises and where to find them.

Paint out the white keystones.

With the white keystones, a large white globe light over the porch.

A solid front door in black.

You will be really sorry you planted that tree so close to the house. The landscaping beds are not large enough when compared to the size of your home.

I would do dark trim and dark windows.

I'd paint the keystones a light tan and call it done. Possibly replace the path to the door with something better than cement.

Thanks everyone. Unfortunately I have already painted the garage door twice, once in “well-bred brown” and another in “urbane bronze” by Sherwin Williams and it did not look good. I think the white window frames demand a lighter color for a cohesive look?

Unfortunate that you have a house design making the garage the focal point which cannot be changed. At the very least, don't do anything that calls more attention to it. The one improvement, tho slight, would be to add an espalier as shown by housegal200; but as RedRyder cautions, have the plant climb a trellis rather than attach to the brick.

Your front door is lost in the shadows and the garage door attracts all the attention and does not fit the style of the home. Address those two and stain keystones to a tan color to blend better with brick.

The 2 things I noticed are the unfinished garage door and the ”stone” wall above the garage which is a different tone than the brick.

I might start with some paint that lends the appearance that those 2 sets of door handles are for 2 different carriage doors. perhaps paint faux frames that mimic the 2 doors, including the outsides which look bad with the unattached hinge plates.

I never advocate painting brick, but that windowless faux stone wall really bothers me. Finding harmony there may bring unwanted attention to those keystones though.

Or you could just embrace the McMansion ethos the same way MCM homeowners are upping the kitch in their homes.

And lastly, what changes will your HOA even allow?

I think you need to draw more attention to your front door. Make it stand out with a brighter bolder colour like a vibrant blue or red. So many colours go with browns and beiges. Be bold and fun. Leave the garage door as is. It blends with the brick as well as any of that shade can. Besides no one will notice it when they see your new front door colour.
