I would personally rather it be by the entrance than facing the living or dining. It will give you more privacy and quiet

My neighbor’s home , although larger, has a very similar floorplan, Their master bedroom door is on the right as you enter their house,i don’t think its,’s a problem. I agree with WestCoast.

Another option:

For me, the efficient use of space in the master bedroom (generous closet/dressing area, space for a desk and a private seating area) would be well worth an entry off the dining area.

I also enlarged the closet in one existing bedroom and turned the coat closet to the side, so the view on entry to the apartment is down a gallery-like space to an artistic focal point.

IMO great use of space and honestly just shut the door I agree no big deal off the entry

I would. We had a condo with the same kitchen, dining, living in a row and it had a raised bar and was open to dining and worked so well. I wouldn’t have a raised bar now but would prefer it open for sure
