I would stay light and low contrast with a light limestone color. Since limestone is not practical for a kitchen I use a limestone look solid surface material from Caesarstone that is beautiful and looks like the real thing.

Check out Ceasarstone's Dreamy Marfil. I think it will go well with your creamy cabinets and it has some darker 'veining," that will relate to your floors and island as well. Good luck!

Forgot to mention, chocolate cherry island already has St. Cecilia (or gallo ornamental granite?). Woukd the above suggestions work with it? Changing island top IS option, but if so should I use same countertop material on island & perimeters? Thank you.

Hi nsdaquin, personally I don't like mixing different surfaces like granite with quartz. If you're not in love with the St. Cecilia, I would consider Dreamy Marfil it's visually less busy. If you have a small kitchen, you should use the same material for both the island and the perimeter--sometimes less is more.
