last month

I need some ideas on what color dinning room table for this type of floor? I’m looking for an 8 seat dinning room table, rug and chandelier.

Need to know the room’s dimensions, as the size and shape of the table will be key. Will you be adding a sideboard?

Can you provide a picture of the living room, to get a sense of your style and color scheme.

Choose the rug and chandelier only after dining set is in room, as you need to consider its size and shape.

If also wanting suggestion links, can you advise your max budget for table/chairs, rug and lighting.

    FYI:

15x11 is the dinning room. I would say $3000.

This the living but needs updated coaches. That’s the next room that will be update. This is main entry and ties into dinning room. The dinning room is the first room people see.

Tried finding ideas to suit the flooring and your price range with seating for 8, but didn’t see anything (suggest an extension table). Hope others can help.

Lose the miroor unless you loe the fridge in the DR., As for table the floor is not the issue the style of your other spaces is the driving force. You can always get a rug .IMO you need to share a bit about what style the new sofas will be, the old ones are pretty blah.

I have a 72" dining table, which seats 8 comfortably. With an 11' wide space, stick to something that's 40 or 42" wide. That leaves you space for a console or buffet if you intend to add one. Rug should be at least an 8x10 but a 9x12 would be better. I'd stick with upholstered chairs to avoid too much wood in the room. My furniture is from a company called Canadel. It's all solid wood made in Quebec. You can customize almost anything, including stain colors. www.canadel.com

    Langford from Ashley furniture $1,795

I think as long as there is an area rug to cover most of the floor you have options for the wood finish for your dining set. I noticed your floors don't appear as orange in your foyer, so I"m wondering if the light bulbs you have in your light fixture are changing the color of your floor and walls.

I would add drapery panels to the windows.

2 chest for storage with art above on the back wall.

Since there is no cabinet that matches the dining set that is short enough for the back wall you can contrast the set with a dark stained or painted cabinet depending on your need for storage.

I think the peachy paint you selected for your walls will be an ongoing issue.

Is there a way to explain the difference in color?

I would not do an all wood table at all this is a cool table with the base wood but the top an oval glass something a bit more intresting IMO and a nice linear light . The add some black chairs maybe with the same wood for legs I do not love rugs in DRS but I do love fab chandeliers and a buffet if possible with art and amybe a lamp and drapes not blinds on the windows for an elegany look in a nice DR

I don't know about the budget - you could easily spend $3,000 just on eight chairs. My dining room is the same size yours is. I have a 42" X 72" table that has six chairs. I have a leaf I can add to seat more people, two spare chairs on either side of a buffet, and a 9' X 12' area rug.

I never picked a dining table based on the flooring. What if your job offers you a relocation you can't refuse next year and you buy another house with different flooring? Will you have to buy a new table? Of course not!

I bought a good quality dining table, that I loved, 26 years ago and it has worked in 4 houses in three different states, 2 rentals (between moves) and an apartment in Tokyo! All with different flooring, including hardwood, tile and carpet.

As far as budget, I paid around $4K for just the table 26 years ago. But back then we still had the mentality of buying "heirloom" pieces. It took me two years to find the perfect table and I still love it today.
