need advice on window treatments

Hello, I am redoing my living room and dining room areas, and need to select new window treatments. I have attached the pallet of fabrics, which includes a photo of my new rug for the room. I am torn between Roman shades or curtains, and need to determine which color to bring out of the rug. I want the room to be warm and cozy. I also attach a picture of the room currently, to show the windows. Thanks for your thoughts!

I would choose roman blinds, you have nice window trim and the drapes fill up the space too much and make it look crowded.

An Inside mount in an soft white, to brighten up the room, your chosen fabrics will be great.

I especially love the lower left fabric, where will that go?

You need to give more information about the fabrics if you want help. How do people know which is the rug? Maybe a picture didn't post.

I would definitely do blinds in the dining area. You can't really hang drapes properly there because of the baseboards, the door and the clearance around the windows.

Are there other windows you plan on redoing in the living area besides the one behind the chair?

To clarify about fabrics: sofa will be beige, two side chairs will be navy blue and the blue and beige pattern, a rocker will be the blue floral pattern as well accent pillows on the sofa. The rug is in the upper right of the photo, with red and blue on the beige background. I hope this helps.

Not quite your rug but it shows the idea... I'm showing natural fibre roman shades on the all windows and the door.

    Love this combination of fabrics/colors.

I normally prefer curtain panels, but in this case I agree with lisedv about natural fiber roman shades. Between the limited space for stackback and the baseboard heaters, roman shades make the most sense. Split bamboo is my favorite, but there are so many styles and colors to choose from.

The simple Roman shades are good because they don’t compete with the views ..and will close easily to block the sun and add privacy as needed…the rug under the dining table should be darker and patterned as traffic and spillage could be an issue there

In the photo the chairs appear to be oddly placed and overlap into the recessed dining area..also the seating appears to be very close to the door…

A smaller or different shape table may work better here

A floor plan would assist in getting a better idea toward more helpful suggestions

Without knowing your lifestyle a smaller table with added extensions for special occasions may be worth considering
