Can I use Golden Gate Quartzite for a backs plash in a kitchen?

I have black granite counter tops and my Island has black and gold swirls. Dark cabinets--I love the fireplace so I am wondering if I can use it as a back splash and how you think it would look with a black granite countertop? Thank you
