Callie: did you already do a "family check" with your husband's side? Heaven forbid this has some unknown sentimental value to sisters/aunts, etc. and they come to visit and see it painted. Also, I'm assuming you already did a once over for marks, maker and so forth. I mean, chances are it was an inexpensive knock off of inlaid pieces, but sometimes even those have more family meaning than value. If none of the above prohibit it, love the blue. If you do the netting curtains, I'd stick with white, or this blue if you can find it. I saw your other post, and think a brighter color might look a bit odd from outside the house, given the home's paint colors.
