Saw this come up again, and had another thought. Since you said you live in an eclectic neighborhood, what if you did the swing in lilac? Light green airy ferns and some cascading pale purple petunias with white in the hanging baskets next summer. You could look for an interesting doormat in greens/lilac/blue/yellow....or paint a plain one yourself! Do all white pots in groups on the porch and mix up the colors of flowers. For another way to go, or in addition, you could look for succulents for plantings. Lots of interesting colors of light green, and many have touches of lilac/purple in them. :)
