A place for your pets is a very good thing. Last house we got our keeshond and had two housepurrs. A sort of a laundry room that was the cut up third bedroom on our house's layout; that was the only room other than the kitchen that didn't have oak floors (that someone ringnailed and put carpeting over) so it became her puppyroom. Her papers went there, and later her one dog bed so she had her place to hide if she wanted
(never used, she would rather lay at hubby's feet or our bed!... two adults, a full grown kees and two cats on a queen bed. Rather fills it. And if you had to go bathroom trying to get back in meant you had to wake the bed up as your spot got colonized... though it was fun to wake up quietly and hear four snores going)

I would deck the top of the crates and put colorful padded edged bits for catbed fodder; forgo window covering unless you need to close for heatloss at night (maybe a fun valance is all you need) and otherwise some petbeds and pads with fun fabrics and colorful food storage containers. Mount up across the upper part of the big window, some cat furniture stuff so the dogs can still see out and the cat(s) can have their place to sprawl and look out.

It's very good that your big woofs get along with your little purr. :)

Under food and water bowls I would put catch mats, and some of those can be had in very fun styles as well. Make it 'their room' and you can go a little overboard on the kitsch, to show that it's themed and set up for your 4 legged kids.
