Paint Color

I have open concept floor plan where the kitchen, living room and breakfast room are all completely open. I am using furniture and color as well as rugs to separate each room. We are very contemporary in style right down to the white/cream leather couches. I painted the kitchen a garnet red that matches the color in the granite, espresso cabinets, with stainless hardware, appliance, and mosaic backsplash.
I love it and often get compliments on it. I had my hopes set on painting an accent wall in the living room area a
(SW) Tri Corn black. The wall is actually is mostly a bank of 3 large windows. My issue is now I am having problem with the color of the walls that flow between the black wall and the red kitchen....I was going with some kind of white but can't find the white I had imagined and the white I did find I am afraid of because its looks so white (our molding and doors are white as well as the window casings in the breakfast room (on curtains on contempary windows). The walls are a beige now with yellow undertones and I despise yellow tones.
Does anyone have ideas or insight on a white or something else? Should I not be afraid of the white?
