I like the rings, but if you decide to go "ringless", I think a special fold would also look nice. Your china is lovely!

yes, the rings look nice. Always a surprise to see them nowadays.

I say yes, but you ask 1K people and you'll get 1K different answers. Keep them if you like them, and if you don't then give them away to your guests as a "special thank you." Or you resource them for other purposes, like a curtain tieback, ponytail holder, scarf holder, etc.

I like the rings & china...the napkins not so much...choose something more colorful.

The traditional user for napkin rings was/is to reuse the family's daily cloth napkins from meal to meal. It keeps them neat.

;-) Having said that, I think napkin rings are very attractive, and fine to use as decorative accents. My family was etiquette-obsessed....

Now they are just for decoration. In the old days they were used with monograms so that they could be reused for the rest of the daily meals and then washed. That was when well to do people had a laundry woman not a washing machine. Napkin rings were used for family meals, never for formal or guest dining. Times have changed.

I always like to use linen napkins with napkin rings because they are so much more substantial.

The rings are pretty, but I'd love to see a fuller and/or starched napkin in the rings. The jacquard is a little floppy, and doesn't fill out the ring quite enough for my personal taste.
