If you can swing the extra expense, yes yes yes. I personally replaced my old Jenn Air "convection" range with a Viking induction / convection range several years ago and it performs circles around the Jenn Air range. The Viking heats faster, has more cooking modes and is more temperature-accurate. Jenn Air's "convection" oven was just a standard oven with a fan in it. I'd hate to have to go back to standard appliances. I could go on but you get the idea. Bottom line, if you can, indulge in high-end appliances.

Hey Mike! We completed our kitchen renovation two years ago and selected all Frigidaire Professional Series appliances (dishwasher, stove, fridge, microwave). The price was just right, so far everything works really well and what was most important to me at the time was that it looked really good and the appliances I selected had the exact look I wanted (I've included one picture of the stove). All that said, if we had ONLY been renovating the kitchen at the time, I may have spent more money on appliances and likely would have gone with Electrolux.

I'm sure you've considered this already but don't over or under invest. Even though I don't plan on moving for 20 or so years, I always think of resale. Pick an appliance line that would be desirable to someone looking to buy a home in your area. If you do ever sell and your home has a high value, buyers will expect the remodeled kitchen to have mid/high to high end appliances. Hopefully more "pros" will weigh in but I'm betting the overall consensus will be, buy the best quality you can without blowing your budget.

If you have he extra money in your budget to get the good stuff then go for it! But if not, I don't think you have anything to worry about by getting the "lesser" brands. GE, Electrolux, etc all work great in my mind.

Rojimine--think it was a website Yale Appliances, in the reviews or blog, is in Boston I believe, and then again in some appliance reviews I googled. Maybe not true, don't know for sure.

Valtex - now that it's been almost 4 years since your remodel, I'm wondering: are you glad you purchased the Wolf and Sub-Zero? We are considering the same line for our kitchen remodel.
