Final paint choice

Trying to decide on final paint color. My husband and I are in disagreement so I thought I would get other opinions. This is the guest bathroom that is attached to the guest bedroom so it would only be used when we have visitors.

Do you like the top or the third one with the shower curtain? The rest of the room is neutral for now. I will get some towels and rugs after the paint.
Top one
Third one down

The November rain is probably a bit better next to safari, but is it too light with shower curtain? Maybe something between the two?

    Lol, Denita :))

This is BM camoflouge, kind of in the middle
  • 12 years ago
I'm voting for camoflouge, lol :)
I like that Brandon beige, but I think it will be too dark in bathroom

Me too...:) Seems like Brandon is too dark. But your camoflouge looks good
  • 12 years ago
Looks nice with the shower curtain :)
Perfect! I hope toomanywhitewalls likes it :)

    I hope so too :)

If your woodwork is white I think the top one would be awesome, otherwise I would go with the lightest of the colors. And where did you get that beautiful shower curtain?
    Bring you curtain with you!

The BM I just came from didn't have nantucket grey. The main store is closed already so I had to go to a hardware store that sells BM. I did pick up both the beige and the camo to see if we like those.

Soft teal would be my choice!
The color I chose was SW Filmy green. Pretty color just not for us

What colour is the guest bedroom? Love when one room flows into the next.
Camoflauge looks too much like what i already have.

    Think I have enough samples??

Coastal fog Ben Moore AC-1? You need more of a gray undertone, IMO.

They are all better than what's in there now. I want to see them in the daylight

This is the guest bedroom. Bed is not made since my son was sleeping in there while his room got painted.

SW safari. Much prettier in person with gold undertones.

Do the coastal fog on the walls and then a touch of blue on the ceiling…glass slipper
  • 12 years ago
I have looked at everything and by far the winner is Coastal Fog. It looks perfect. I like the way it looks on that bathroom wall that Judy G Designs posted. Very classy looking.
I will check coastal fog in the morning with natural light
  • 12 years ago
Personally, I like the aqua marine blue in the curtain but I voted for the 3rd one down from your colours.
Judy G wins as far as I am concerned
Not a fair vote where are all of the colors

Testing a few options,so you can see how a saturated version of your green (It is a compliment, not a match) compares w coastal fog equivalent ( I am on SW site), as well as warmer neutrals.

What color is the attached bedroom? I like bringing the same color into the bathroom. Also, it would look nice if you could bring your beautiful shower curtain up higher with maybe, a fancier rod. Good luck! When getting opinions from husband's, I find it best to give them 2 or 3 choices (that you like, for sure) and ask which one they prefer. I never ask what do you like because they might say something completely different!! Just a girl hint!!
I suggest you get a different shower curtain.
YUP! The 3rd one is the best on those colors. :)
I still like the green the best!! The other colors are "just there" , the green add warmth and personality.

go with a deep toned even slightly muddy neutral, ... then you can chose to change out your shower curtain/accessories whenever you want and the room will still work without repainting. re: Studio 10001, we like the bottom left color best.

did you decide yet? love to see what you selected!
We did pick a color. It might be getting repainted today. Not sure what he is planning to do today. I will update with pics when it is finished.

I have used a similar green in a bathroom and it was not flattering on the skin. Maybe it had too much yellow in it but it made the skin look sallow when the lights were on. The blue in the curtain is very pretty and probably would be more flattering.

I say go with the first one, even though it's more bold, and make the color pop by doing white bathroom accessories and towels. The contrast with the shower curtain and paint color will look amazing :)

When I look at the color choices I would agree that both 1 & 3 would be the top contenders. 1: Makes the walls pop and really creates an atmosphere (sets the stage) for the shower curtains while 3: Makes the wall really sit back and dependent on the shower curtains.... which in return makes the bath color dependent on the shower curtain you choose.

I defiantly think the third one down is the best choice. It brings out the lighter green in the flowers
  • 12 years ago

Mkrupp, you don't have to be defiant, some of us like that too, lol ;D
  • 12 years ago
Why stick with just one slab of color? Use a darker shade for the first 32" with something lighter on top. Add a chair rail molding in the dark chocolate that outlines the flowers on the curtain to separate the two.

This way you won't have such a stark contrast with the busy pattern and monotone walls. Just a thought.
