My husband just retired from 26 yrs of active duty and we are buying our first house. After several attempts to purchase pre-existing that didn't work out for various reasons, we decided to build. We are going into an established neighborhood and working directly with the builder. We have picked our plans and are currently about to sign off on the final set and sign our sales contract. Anything we need to know/beware of?? It's somewhat different as it is a custom home so we can pick anything we want (not like sometimes when a builder has 3 choices of cabinets, 4 choices of flooring, etc). Any advice is greatly appreciated! I will definitely be posting floor plans as we go for assistance.
