My first home office, now what?

I am finally after many years of wanting one getting my very own dedicated home office. My wife will be relieved my paperwork and designs will not encroach on the dining room any longer. My question now I have one I am wondering on how to fill the space? I am not against it being simple and uncluttered. I think I need two desks or spaces for two people but the rest is up to creativity.

Unless you need two desks, use one and make it bigger. A little thinking couch/cigar chair to encourage your artistic side. Some filing cabinets and bookshelves are a good idea. Last but not least, some pieces of art on the wall that you can look at for inspiration.
Make the place comfortable for yourself, don't think of other people's desires, you must be comfortable in there.

Add some artworks & a nice rug. One or two simple but colorful chairs will be nice... color boosts creativity!

A rug would be nice, and, if you like them, an aquarium with fish. At least you have some company up in your Rupunzel tower and they may help you relax if you get stressed with paperwork :-). You must be super organized because I don't see much cupboard space for papers... or even a shredder? If you aren't, then I suggest this might be the next purchase!

I'd buy an office chair with wheels on it, and a high back.

You could put some posters up on the angle of your wall to add visual appeal. A good source of quality posters is allposters.com.

A small 2 seater sofa with a coffee table opposite the pantry is needed.. You don't want to take your food to the desk..

Thanks guys, I should have said this image is the sales brochure. My office space right now is empty. I am planning on adding some more storage space and my own desk.

Oh! That is quite different then ;-)So what type of work do you do? (without being indiscreet) but do you need a large desk (drawing cartoons, designs) - an office desk? What are your likely space requirements and needs?
