Associated Housewrights

We could not be happier with the decision we made to select Associated Housewrights to re-do our kitchen and one of our bathrooms. When we chose to go with them, we didn't know there'd be a pandemic and we'd be pretty much confined to the house where they were working. That said, they were extremely professional and safe. They finished on time and on budget. We received updates at the end of every day about what had just been completed and what we could expect the next day. They were super sweet to and patient with our kids who wanted explanations about what was happening and general conversation as they were trying to complete the job on time and on budget. Not sure anyone would call a kitchen and bathroom remodel a pleasant experience to live through, but they really made the situation far more bearable than we imagined. Oh, they also brought biscuits regularly for our dog who looked forlornly for a couple weeks after they'd finished for where they'd gone. We would recommend them without hesitation to anyone else looking for work on their house. Thanks to Steve, Elizabeth, Tom, Molly and the rest of the folks who helped shepherd this project.

I am grateful beyond words for my beautiful new front porch! Meri's design honored the original 1932 bungalow character while refreshing it with a charming contemporary look. She went above and beyond to prepare several design options each with varying budget implications. Todd's tenacious attention to craftsmanship and detail produced a superior built structure that will last for years to come. Bill Remis finished the interior door frame with masterful meticulousness. For the final phase, Jay and his Five Star team with nearly surgical precision completed the finishing exterior paint. Boone's conscientious management of every step, obstacle, and element of the project was executed with kindness, graciousness, humor, and most of all conducted in the highest of professional standards. His keen eye for perfection caught small anomalies missed by others. I know I have forgotten many of the other team members, but know they are recognized and appreciated, as well. The entire team made the experience, from start to finish, just so easy! I never had to fret about orders or deadlines because I knew the project was in excellent hands. Every single member made me smile or laugh with their easy going spirit. I just sat back and let the magic happen! My new front porch has become a neighborhood destination for the many strollers, joggers and dog walkers that pass by daily. I've lost count of the admiring comments and heartening, "Love your porch!" as strangers stop to chat. Many report on watching the progress over the months with eager anticipation. In an odd way, during these difficult pandemic times, I think people found some comfort in seeing something superbly built that is enduring and a reminder there is a future. You all helped to not only design and build a stunning porch, but perhaps unintentionally gave others needing a little distraction and reassurance that beautiful things can happen in gloomy times.

We have now worked with Associated Housewrights on three projects for our home over the course of 7 years. A total gut and redo of an attic space into two bedrooms. Adding a bathroom in the basement, remodeling existing bathroom and kitchen. An addition project with a family room, dining room, mud room and garage. We were very impressed with every aspect of the services provided for each project from design to project management to build. They are extremely responsive and detail oriented making sure we were satisfied every step along the way. We threw a lot of curve balls their way with unique materials and changes midstream and they were all handled in a timely, efficient manner. Their breadth of expertise on different topics ranging from energy efficiency to excellent space utilization was impressive and appreciated. Highly recommended without reservation for all projects from new construction to remodeling of existing space, we have experienced it all!

Associated Housewrights are a joy to work with, from start to finish! We asked them to be very creative about adding a bathroom to our first floor: in between other rooms! They could have laughed and said it can't be done - but they worked with us until we found a great way to get the project fit into the space! AND - it turned out to be really functional and really beautiful. It feels like it's been there all along! The craftsmanship that their team delivers is also really remarkable. Every aspect of the project is top notch. From the earliest exploration of ideas to the follow-through on the last tiny little "punch list" items, their designers, craftsmen and project manager were all on point at all times. Their project budget quotes were fair and accurate by the end of the project. No surprises. They followed through on every detail. We are happy to give them our highest possible recommendation.

They did a total basement gut job for us about 4 years ago. We exposed the basement with large energy-efficient windows that turned what was a "bat-cave" into a brightly-lit, usable space. 700 square feet went from totally useless to 1 sunny bedroom, 1 beautiful full bath, a laundry room/mechanical room and a spacious family room. Guests always compliment the level of finish and the attention to detail. Never was there a problem and they finished on schedule and on budget. We would recommend them without reservation for any home remodel. Their staff of highly-trained and professional experts leave no detail unaddressed. Everytime I enter the space, I smile...best investment ever!

Associated Housewrights remodeled my bathroom and bedroom, and made a master closet. From start to finish, they were highly professional. They also completed the work on schedule, and very close to the cost initially projected, despite a few unknowns going into the project. My bedroom and closet are perfect, and the bathroom is stunning. I am not knowledgable in remodeling, but Housewrights took my needs and came up with several options that I was able to pick from. As a subcontractor for Associated Housewrights, I have worked on dozens of their projects. As a professional in the building trades I find that when I work on an Associated Housewrights project, things go smoothly. This is a tribute to their organization and positive attitude. It also speaks well of their choice of subcontractors and employees. There is an excellent spirit of cooperation on the jobsite which makes things pleasant for me, but translates to a higher quality product in the end. There is a pride of craftsmanship and an emphasis on quality and good design sense that is lacking in many places. I frequently recommend Associated Housewrights to clients in need of a quality general contractor.

A dream was to build a beautiful and green house. This dream was realized because of the knowledge, commitment and craftsmanship of all involved. Everyone at Associated Housewrights from the beginning to the end was a delight. All the staff were respectful, responsive, helpful, and fun to work with. Associated Housewrights hired excellent subcontractors and supervised their work carefully. During the building of our home, I had many family emergencies and the staff were supportive and helpful as I was often out of town. This company is wonderful.

In 2000, AHW remodeled one bathroom and built an adjacent bathroom addition. In 2012 and 2013, AHW was the carpentry subcontractor and provided guidance while I was the general contractor on a family room remodel and kitchen remodel, respectively. AHW stall has been consistently excellent at design, at project management, at schedule management, at cost estimation, at producing a beautiful product, and at problem solving and customer relations.

We have used Associated House Wrights twice. The first time was for a major project including a remodeled kitchen and new bathroom which included new interior and exterior walls. The second time was for a bathroom and basement remodel. I recommend them without reservations. They are professional, have high standards, very easy to work with, are honest and finish things on time. They use high quality dependable sub-contractors and have excellent designers, engineers and carpenters on staff. We asked them to fix some minor things (like a closet door not latching in the summer) more than 5 years after the first project was completed and they were happy to. Can't say enough good things about this company.
