It has been one year now since the finishing touches were completed on the remodel of our home. Wow, what a journey it was! We started out with a vague idea of what we wanted and through the expertise and experience embodied in the staff at Nick Weitzer Company it culminated into an outstanding refresh of the entire main floor of our 30-year old home. Nobody, and I mean nobody, can believe the difference this remodel has made in our main living space. Not one day goes by that we do not comment on how wonderful it is to live in this ‘new’ home. The pictures cannot not convey how beautifully this remodel came together. We remodeled because we decided to ‘age in place’ in a home built to raise three children. That meant a lot of rethinking of how the space could be utilized. At every turn, when we could grasp a new vision, the design team explained how it could be done and what the resulting changes would mean in cost and time. We were never left wondering. If you have a question, they will get the answer. That is because the staff at Weitzer Company are consummate professionals from the design staff to the on-site crew. All were gracious and patient with our questions and changes as we navigated through this process. As you can imagine, we would not hesitate to recommend Weitzer Company! The Nick Weitzer Company remodeled the kitchen in my downtown Portland loft. Their estimate was detailed and easy to understand. They honored the constraints of the HOA regulations, respected my budget, and the project was completed on time and on budget. Each of the individuals working on the project demonstrated pride in their workmanship and that was reflected in the end result. The project manager, who I had worked closely with in design and material selections, left the company midway through the project, which created some communication problems and additional stress for me. However, Nick worked through those problems to my satisfaction. I am extremely pleased with my remodeled kitchen and have no hesitation in recommending NWC.

NWC is nearing completion on a huge, complex addition to the back of our house. I can absolutely recommend working with them! I'm at home with my kids during construction, and ALL employees and subcontractors so far have been courteous and very conscious of invading my space. They don't smoke or swear, they're safety-aware, and they double check to make sure lights, hose bibs, attic hatches, etc are where I want them to be. I always know who is here and why, what things are happening next (like when power or water will be out), and when I need to decide on flooring, paint colors, and so on. My whole neighborhood has commented on the speed and efficiency of "my" workmen. We're actually ahead of schedule- unheard of! Many companies' bids were thrown-together guesstimates, but NWC took time from the beginning to gather information and give us an itemized, informed bid. They work hard to earn your trust and respect, and are just generally solid, good people. I support local businesses who are genuine and treat their employees well, which is why I purposely came here to give NWC a glowing review. Good job, Nick and crew!

My wife and I hired NWC to do a sizable remodel and addition to our 729 sq ft home. All to get ready for the arrival of a new baby. NWC was great from start to finish. They came up with design that fit our needs and budget, and made our house much more livable. They worked with the city and neighbor when sewer issues came up. They worked with us as we made small changes here and there. And they did a great job. Most importantly, their whole team was great, and they completed the project on schedule. We were out of town a lot of the time work was going on, and we felt completely confident our place would be looked after the the team would be here working every day.

We hired NWC to design and remodel our kitchen, and could not be happier with the results (which can be seen on this page.) The designer (Asmund) worked through numerous designs to ensure that we ended up with something that would fit well with the rest of our house, reigned in costs, and was practical and would stand up to time. All of the employees were professional and were sure to explain the options when there was a question. when they came in on time and under budget, well that was icing on the cake.

The Nick Weitzer Company did a fabulous job on our kitchen! The colors are nice and bold like we were hoping and we were in constant contact with them about all the aspect of the construction. I would hire them again, probably for a new deck out in front of our house after seeing the nice job they did with our new stairs. Thanks!

Our neighbors have an older somewhat unique two story home in Sellwood. They added a small school house on their lot and I was invited to the open house when it was completed. They chose NWC for the project and not only did the do a remarkable job on complimenting design elements of the existing structure, the quality and craftsmanship really stands out and I'm happy to say that as a neighbor I benefit from the increased livability that comes from great architecture and outstanding craftsmanship. For this reason I have referred other neighbors who are thinking of building to call NWC

NWC did an amazing job on our 2 story Victorian house in NW Portland. They raised the house 4 feet to add a daylight basement. The new space looks like it has always been part of the house. We, ourselves sometimes even forget it was not part of the original house ! The transition is so seamless ! We get so many compliments from the neighbors for having preserved the integrity and aesthetic of our Victorian house and we thank Nick for that .The finish details are impeccable and we are overall very satisfied with how the project was run and executed. We loved having the architect and contractors involved upfront and part of the same company and believe that this approach saved us time, money and headaches ! We wanted to redo our basement to move our bedroom, my office and our TV room down there and also remodel the laundry area. The job was complicated. the bathroom had to be redesigned, boiler moved, steps moved and more. In other words it was a big, complicated by the fact that as I writer I needed to work. Nick and his staff started from scratch and redesigned the space in a way that we never imagined. We set up a day for the work to begin and an estimated time when it would be over. Not only did the folks they hired show up on time, but they were all real craftsman, the most pleasant of people who took pride in their work. All we did was leave a few boxes of doughnuts every day. The project was well-supervised; they were constantly concerned about our comfort, open to new ideas. When changes had to be made, they were explained to us, and in some case designs were improved from how they were originally drawn up. I had an idea to use space under the steps as a closet, and they said sure. They were constantly thinking about how to make things work better, and they did. When they were done, they came through with little bits of blue tape to mark spots that we would never have noticed but that they saw and which needed a little attention. It's been two years; the work has held up splendidly (and was on budget, by the way). Our house is comfortable in ways we had never imagined, thanks to Nick, his staff and his contractors. The fellow he hired to oversee the project was there every day. Any question we had, he answered thoughtfully and always with consideration for what we needed. If we had to do another big or small project, we wouldn't hesitate to call on Nick again and would urge anyone to do so.
