This collaboration with Polymath Studio Architecture was originally designed as a kitchen remodel and second story addition. We worked with our clients to divide the work into two phases that would align with their budget. Phase one includes the kitchen and stairways, as well as structural and mechanical upgrades to prepare for the future second story work. We opened up the kitchen, which had previously included a separate breakfast nook, added large windows to bring in natural light, enlarged the doorway to the dining room to make the space feel large and open and reconfigured the stairs to improve circulation in the house.
