Ladd’s Addition Kitchen

This kitchen remodel was completed in an Historic Ladd’s Addition home. The existing kitchen was cramped and dark, with very little work space. We opened it up by moving the staircase to the far side of the house, thereby opening up more space for the kitchen. As a part of moving the stairs, we removed two walls, allowing more natural light into the kitchen through existing windows. Additionally, we found previously unused space within a wall, allowing for a deeper pantry and avoiding the need for a custom refrigerator. An end grain butcher block peninsula created a breakfast bar and a huge work area for the avid cooks in the house.
