For that reason it is widely regarded as Manhattan’s most spectacular waterfront park. No wonder it is one of the most sought after neighborhoods in the city. This interior project set along the scenic section of the Hudson came with only one criteria….make it cool. As a second home and city escape the client wanted a hip retreat for family and guests with a turn key interior. DL happily accepted the challenge creating unique and beautiful custom pieces and selecting everything from the wall-coverings to the kitchen appliances. As this was a secondary residence we had the freedom and flexibility to create an even more artful environment. These elements are apparent with the strong use of metal, concrete and the sculptural details of the furniture.

A wonderful project. The customers were new to the home and really wanted to make it their own. So, with a fresh coat of paint and some bright trim work, this house really came alive! The owners were so excited about the new look and could really be proud of the house, they now called a home!

After receiving a referral by a family friend, these clients knew that Rebel Builders was the Design + Build company that could transform their space for a new lifestyle: as grandparents! As young grandparents, our clients wanted a better flow to their first floor so that they could spend more quality time with their growing family. The challenge, of creating a fun-filled space that the grandkids could enjoy while being a relaxing oasis when the clients are alone, was one that the designers accepted eagerly. Additionally, designers also wanted to give the clients a more cohesive flow between the kitchen and dining area. To do this, the team moved the existing fireplace to a central location to open up an area for a larger dining table and create a designated living room space. On the opposite end, we placed the "kids area" with a large window seat and custom storage. The built-ins and archway leading to the mudroom brought an elegant, inviting and utilitarian atmosphere to the house. The careful selection of the color palette connected all of the spaces and infused the client's personal touch into their home.

This front entry was originally designed to accept a pair of centered doors with side lights. We chose to approach the entire opening as a single composition creating vertical slabs of walnut separated by ribbons of clear glass, emulating a view through a forest of trees. In order to achieve the illusion of floor to ceiling uninterrupted elements, a complex polished stainless steel framework was engineered and machined to provide the perimeter structure. The polished stainless steel framework incorporates a concealed in floor, self closing hinge for the large center pivot door. This installation incorporated a variety of materials combining engineered walnut panels, insulated glass, machined polished stainless steel and stone surround coordination. Approaching the entrance you are greeted with a multifaceted composition enticing you to enter and experience the rest of this Young & Young architectural masterpiece located in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan completed in September of 2016.

Dania Bagia Photography In 2014, when new owners purchased one of the grand, 19th-century "summer cottages" that grace historic North Broadway in Saratoga Springs, Old Saratoga Restorations was already intimately acquainted with it. Year after year, the previous owner had hired OSR to work on one carefully planned restoration project after another. What had not been dealt with in the previous restoration projects was the Eliza Doolittle of a garage tucked behind the stately home. Under its dingy aluminum siding and electric bay door was a proper Victorian carriage house. The new family saw both the charm and potential of the building and asked OSR to turn the building into a single family home. The project was granted an Adaptive Reuse Award in 2015 by the Saratoga Springs Historic Preservation Foundation for the project. Upon accepting the award, the owner said, “the house is similar to a geode, historic on the outside, but shiny and new on the inside.”

On the exterior, the desire was to weave the home into the fabric of the community, all while paying special attention to meld the footprint of the house into a workable clean, open, and spacious interior free of clutter and saturated in natural light to meet the owner’s simple but yet tasteful lifestyle. The utilization of natural light all while bringing nature’s canvas into the spaces provides a sense of harmony. Light, shadow and texture bathe each space creating atmosphere, always changing, and blurring the boundaries between the indoor and outdoor space. Color abounds as nature paints the walls. Though they are all white hues of the spectrum, the natural light saturates and glows, all while being reflected off of the beautiful forms and surfaces. Total emersion of the senses engulf the user, greeting them with an ever changing environment. Style gives way to natural beauty and the home is neither of the past or future, rather it lives in the moment. Stable, grounded and unpretentious the home is understated yet powerful. The environment encourages exploration and an awakening of inner being dispelling convention and accepted norms. The home encourages mediation embracing principals associated with silent illumination. If there was one factor above all that guided the design it would be found in a word, truth. We sourced low furniture to ensure we maximized the views and had enough space for everyday living and throwing dinner parties. Our clients also enjoyed cooking, so we created an organized, intuitive, functional and modern kitchen that made whipping up homemade dips and snacks for their friends a breeze.

Built in 1907 and nestled into the beating heart of San Fran’s Bernal Heights neighbourhood, this adorable abode was an unpolished gem ready to be turned into our clients’ dream home. Our mission was to gift Bonview with classic, natural and timeless style while setting it up with impressive functionality so that it was ready to be the pet-friendly, kid-friendly and entertaining-friendly home they needed it to be. Mission accepted! Our clients’ vision was clear: They wanted whites, blacks and wood tones with texture and personality. Oh, and that spunky wine fridge? Yep, that was a non-negotiable. ? “It’s not unusual for our friends and family to drop past unannounced any day of the week. And we love it!” They told us during our initial Design Therapy Sesh. We knew immediately what she meant - we have an open-door policy with our families, too! Which was why we consciously created living spaces that were open, inviting and welcoming. Now, the only problem our clients would have would be convincing their guests to leave! Our clients also enjoyed cooking and baking casually, so we created an organized, intuitive and functional kitchen and pantry that made whipping up homemade dips and snacks for their game nights a breeze.

Northern Liberties Gem- Dyed Concrete to a grey color. We also used an acid to stain and discolor the newly poured concrete. After that we impregnated salt to eat into the concrete to create small holes. As a unique touch we embedded large nails into the concrete and used acid to create shadows of the nail marks into the concrete. The deck was built as a landing area stepping out of the door. In the rear of the yard, steel was mounted vertically to accept the grid and then filled with river rock. Steel trim was installed to the concrete to create the planter areas that border the concrete. Bamboo, trees, shrubs, and flowers were newly planted. The before pics show the previous yard condition. The yard was transformed into a stunning Asian themed work of art. Everything was executed perfectly by the installers who worked on this site. This customer now has a custom one of a kind backyard in Philadelphia, PA.
