My client had recently visited England and wanted an authentic European look, with timber framing and steep pitch roofs. She also wanted lots of craftsman style woodwork in the home, with unique windows, balconies and overlooks.
I designed the home with all this in mind, but also defined the spaces to take advantage of the long views throughout the home. The land was flat, so I created ways to get daylight into the lower level. Without ever compromising the attributes that make a Tudor a Tudor, the home is designed and built to the level of the old Tudors, with the modern, open plan living for today.

"About The Project: This elegant home embodies contemporary sophistication harmonized with farmhouse charm. Meticulously crafted, the property boasts an expansive 3500 square feet of conditioned living space. The house features three comfortable bedrooms, 3.5 luxurious bathrooms, and special attributes that create a unique sense of style.
High ten-foot ceilings invite an airy ambiance, enhanced by stunning shiplap trim work on the walls and ceilings. Cedar beams add warmth and authenticity to the living and dining rooms, echoing the home's farmhouse roots. Vaulted ceilings adorn the master bedroom and dining room, while an oversized closet provides ample storage. The master bath stands out as an oasis of indulgence with a free-standing tub and his-and-hers vanities, offering a daily escape into tranquility.
A distinctive custom iron front door greets visitors, leading them into the captivating blend of design and function inside. The exterior reflects the meticulous attention to detail prevalent throughout the home, with gorgeous brickwork adding to the allure. On a lot spanning 0.8 acres, this home capitalizes on its lakeside location to offer an unparalleled lifestyle that blends luxury with the bliss of nature.

Our inspiration for this home was an updated and refined approach to Frank Lloyd Wright’s “Prairie-style”; one that responds well to the harsh Central Texas heat. By DESIGN we achieved soft balanced and glare-free daylighting, comfortable temperatures via passive solar control measures, energy efficiency without reliance on maintenance-intensive Green “gizmos” and lower exterior maintenance.
The client’s desire for a healthy, comfortable and fun home to raise a young family and to accommodate extended visitor stays, while being environmentally responsible through “high performance” building attributes, was met. Harmonious response to the site’s micro-climate, excellent Indoor Air Quality, enhanced natural ventilation strategies, and an elegant bug-free semi-outdoor “living room” that connects one to the outdoors are a few examples of the architect’s approach to Green by Design that results in a home that exceeds the expectations of its owners.

A local homeowner partnered with VPC Builders to create the mountain retreat of his dreams. The custom-built, two-level residence stands at 3200 square feet and features three bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms, a bonus room, and a two-car garage.
Upon arrival, viewers are immediately captivated by a modern double front door, unique cedar trim, and bold dark colors. The exterior showcases Cypress siding and black roofing. A thin-cut, natural stone veneer placed around the covered front porch incorporates the rustic mountain setting.
Inside the home, the natural lighting provides a bright and crisp space that compliments the recessed lighting and hickory engineered flooring. The living room boasts a reclaimed accent mantle, true steel beams, and a vaulted ceiling. The area provides an ideal space for entertaining on cooler evenings with a full steel gas fireplace.
The kitchen and dining area are visible from the living room and were custom-designed to reflect the homeowner’s passion for cooking. The kitchen harbors a double-thick island top, stunning quartz countertops, a six-burner oven, steel hood, and a full custom quartz backsplash...perfect for an aspiring chef.
The master bedroom, complete with a deck access and full bath, provides the homeowner with a private getaway. The master bathroom has a double vanity sink with a quartz countertop and a full glass steam shower. Each of the two guest rooms are fit for a queen-sized bed. They each include a full bath displaying stunning tile designs and built-in showers.

Modern Rustic Lodge truly offers a stunning escape to the Blue Ridge Mountains. Every detail was tailored to complement the homeowner’s lifestyle and avocations. VPC is confident that this home will provide mountain adventures and lasting memories for years to come.

This award-winning custom home is a traditional craftsman style house with many contemporary attributes. It sits on a five acre parcel up high on a mountain that has commanding views of the entire Puget Sound, including Brentwood Bay, the Gulf Islands, Mount Baker, Victoria, and the Olympic Mountains. This home was a recipient of the 2020 People’s Choice from the Victoria Residential Builders' Association's CARE Awards.
The custom cabinetry is remarkable. There is built-in cabinetry in almost every room of the house. This home is built to be timeless with its light colour-scheme. All cabinetry, rooms and countertops are white and the multitude of windows bring in natural light and show off the surroundings.

This upstairs gathering area provides ample with bar seating and an area for a pool table. The custom designed ceiling to add interest and detail gives this space a unique attribute.

Tucked away into the quiet of the Blue Ridge Mountains lies Haven Lookout. The success of this project can be attributed to collaboration in the design between VPC Builders and the homeowners. VPC’s craftsmanship combined with the creativity of the homeowner sparked a functional yet extraordinary mountain getaway. This 3,325 sq. ft, 3 bedrooms, and 3 bath home is ensconced with mountain-inspired elements, exquisite mountain views, and an inviting tenor of hearth and luxury. Upon arrival, captivation begins. Stunning features like the arch top door and timber framing welcome guests and residents at the front door.
Each room was customized and designed to fit the needs and vision of the owners and we are delighted at the results of this new residence.

“Hygge”: the Danish esthetic characterized by cozy environments featuring natural materials, clean design, and light colors to fend off the doldrums of the long northern winters. Embodying these attributes is this welcoming space mixing colors and textures to spectacular effect. Pale wood-look porcelain tile flooring sets the tone. Traditional inset cabinetry with a delicate ogee inner profile is painted light blue on the perimeter and cream on the island. The ever-popular apron front sink adds charm. White oak floating shelves showcase decorative items and cookbooks. They sit adjacent to a bifold countertop wall cabinet that’s lined in more white oak; it conceals a freestanding microwave and abundant dishware storage. Appliances are paneled to match for a cohesive look.
The crown jewel of the room, however, is the range and vent hood. For European flair, a CornuFe range in ivory with brass trim was chosen. A custom curved plaster hood is accented with white oak edging and sweeping corbels. Brass appears again in the faucet, the island pendants, and the eclectic mix of hardware: cupboard latches, bin pulls, and knobs. To complete the classic look, gray and honey-veined Danby marble countertops were selected, complemented by a handmade white subway backsplash tile.

"Beginning to end, it honestly has been a pleasure to work with Jason. He possesses a rare combination of attributes that afford him the simultaneous perspective of an architect, an engineer, and a builder. In our case, the end result is a unique, well thought out, elegant extension of our home that truly reflects our highest aspirations. I can not recommend Jason highly enough, and am already planning our next collaboration." - Homeowner
