The Living Room is inspired by the Federal style. The elaborate plaster ceiling was designed by Tom Felton and fabricated by Foster Reeve's Studio. Coffers and ornament are derived from the classic details interpreted at the time of the early American colonies. This little guy was growing out of his crib and changing table and needed an update to his room. His parents are avid golfers and he in turn has picked up the sport. His parents requested a room that he can grow in to, so the space will last many years before having to redesign it again. His mom suggested a golf theme room and I loved the idea, so we rolled with it. We kept the original plantation shutters and millwork and built a toddler-friendly space he can enjoy for years and years. I had my muralist paint an argyle wall to set the tone. I used new custom furniture combined with some store bought pieces. Accessorizing the space was a fun task. Instead of using store bought items, I had some custom wall art made for him to personalize the space. I had his great grandmother’s golf clubs mounted onto graphic green and white fabric studded with chrome nailheads. An Etsy seller made us a custom metal piece with all their favorite golf brands. Another Etsy seller made us wall hooks fashioned from golf balls. No golf theme room would be complete without a putting green, so had one of those thrown in to so he can practice his putts. He now loves his new room and enjoys spending time in there (not to mention now sleeping in there too!).

The newly remodeled family room has new hardwood floors and French doors which lead out to a large backyard patio. A new built-in entertainment center with bookshelves and storage was added. The custom upholstered armchairs and sofa are in cream colors with patterned pillows, lending to the nautical beach theme. A blue accent wall lends to the blue hues throughout the home. A custom cocktail table and side tables were designed specifically for this home. The new open floor plan makes the family room visible from the entry and open to the kitchen. The backside of the fireplace has a hint to the nautical theme with white painted wood and new nickel fireplace doors. A commissioned painting hangs near the French doors; it coordinates with the mural painted in the powder room. I was asked to create a space for 2 brothers to share a room. After meeting with the boys once loved baseball and other loved basketball so that set the theme! I purchased oversized stickers to attach to the wall. Bought oversized colored letters to mark their beds. Purchased cherry L shaped bunk beds so that the room wouldn't look so crowded. Purchased pottery barn bedding and adjusted the pillows to look more like a sofa bed. The lockers are perfect for their backpacks and hidden treasures. We found a baseball ceiling fan and added the strips for some visual interest to the room.

In this project, the client wanted to make an arts and crafts themed first floor. First, walls were torn down to open up the space. To carry the arts and crafts theme throughout the first floor quarter sawn cabinets and a hand-scraped wood floors were installed in the kitchen, new arts and crafts columns were added between the kitchen and family room, and doors and trim sympathetic to the rest of the theme were replaced in each room. In this renovation, the once-framed closed-in double-door closet in the laundry room was converted to a locker storage system with room for roll-out laundry basket drawer and a broom closet. The laundry soap is contained in the large drawer beside the washing machine. Behind the mirror, an oversized custom medicine cabinet houses small everyday items such as shoe polish, small tools, masks...etc. The off-white cabinetry and slate were existing. To blend in the off-white cabinetry, walnut accents were added with black hardware.
