INTERNATIONAL AWARD WINNER. 2018 NKBA Design Competition Best Overall Kitchen. 2018 TIDA International USA Kitchen of the Year. 2018 Best Traditional Kitchen - Westchester Home Magazine design awards. The designer's own kitchen was gutted and renovated in 2017, with a focus on classic materials and thoughtful storage. The 1920s craftsman home has been in the family since 1940, and every effort was made to keep finishes and details true to the original construction. Before renovating, this bright and airy family kitchen was small, cramped and dark. The dining room was being used for spillover storage, and there was hardly room for two cooks in the kitchen. By knocking out the wall separating the two rooms, we created a large kitchen space with plenty of storage, space for cooking and baking, and a gathering table for kids and family friends. The dark navy blue cabinets set apart the area for baking, with a deep, bright counter for cooling racks, a tiled niche for the mixer, and pantries dedicated to baking supplies. The space next to the beverage center was used to create a beautiful eat-in dining area with an over-sized pendant and provided a stunning focal point visible from the front entry. Touches of brass and iron are sprinkled throughout and tie the entire room together.

The homeowners wanted to open up their living and kitchen area to create a more open plan. We relocated doors and tore open a wall to make that happen. New cabinetry and floors where installed and the ceiling and fireplace where painted. This home now functions the way it should for this young family!

This homeowner originally had open shelves displaying snacks and beverages along this wall. Now that their child has started to get into things, they were looking for something with more storage and that could be closed off. They were envisioning a built-in serving/beverage area with rollouts and drawers. We were happy to help them. They chose the transitional shaker style of the Catalina door in the Slate gray stained wood finish. We installed custom rustic white birch adjustable rollouts in each cabinet. They decided on the Calacutta Laza Quartz top, as its gray veining compliments the slate finish. Now this homeowner has a better flow to their kitchen area when entertaining their guests.

This scullery beverage station features sage green cabinetry, open shelving for glassware, and a brass bar faucet over a compact prep sink. Quartz countertops provide durable workspace, while a beverage refrigerator and wine cooler keep drinks organized and ready for entertaining.
