Farrow and Ball Lotus wallpaper is complimented by the simple pleated drapery on black iron rods. The client invited us to design around her existing dining table and chairs. We added the leather host and hostess chairs, Lotus wallpaper, new paint color and area rug and the modern chandelier. It all comes together nicely, do you think?

This project was featured in Midwest Home magazine as the winner of ASID Life in Color. The addition of a kitchen with custom shaker-style cabinetry and a large shiplap island is perfect for entertaining and hosting events for family and friends. Quartz counters that mimic the look of marble were chosen for their durability and ease of maintenance. Open shelving with brass sconces above the sink create a focal point for the large open space.
Putting a modern spin on the traditional nautical/coastal theme was a goal. We took the quintessential palette of navy and white and added pops of green, stylish patterns, and unexpected artwork to create a fresh bright space. Grasscloth on the back of the built in bookshelves and console table along with rattan and the bentwood side table add warm texture. Finishes and furnishings were selected with a practicality to fit their lifestyle and the connection to the outdoors. A large sectional along with the custom cocktail table in the living room area provide ample room for game night or a quiet evening watching movies with the kids.

The dining room was formerly the living room. The window on the back wall was moved closer to the corner to provide an expanse for furniture. To improve flow on the first floor, part of the wall was removed near the powder room..
The opening to the right of the fireplace leads to the garage and back door to the deck. All the casings are new. Furniture is from #Arhaus.

This living room hosts an in-home daycare in addition to the clients' own family. We added airy wall decor in muted colors to balance the bold colors in the textiles.

The original layout forced hosting into two separate spaces. Cooking happened in one room. Gathering happened in another. This reconfiguration fixes that.
Positioned directly between the kitchen and family room, the butler’s pantry and bar becomes a working transition point – where drinks are poured, glasses are refilled, and everything needed for the evening stays within reach. Spanish Colonial Revival–inspired tile and robin’s egg blue cabinetry carry the home’s palette into a space that works as hard as the rooms around it without ever pulling attention away from them.
