The white cabinets are nicely contrasted with the blue island which is from Custom Wood Products and is a custom color match. The island includes a bar seating area that is perfect for hosting so that you can still interact with your guests while in the kitchen. The white cabinets are Kraftmaid with Grandview style doors painted in Dovewhite. The open shelves in the kitchen allowed the owners to beautifully display some ceramic pieces.

A wonderful woman and grandma owned this split level home that was cramped and dark. Opening up the space allowed us to access the ample supply of light from the back of the house and bring it through the entire first floor. A clean bright aesthetic with soft blue undertones inspired by our client created the perfect casual, at ease feeling for a home that welcomes sweet grandchildren and hosts family gatherings regularly.

For this screened porch in Westport, Connecticut, Caroline Kopp chose a large trestle table which echoes the beadboard ceiling. Steel side chairs, softened by woven host chairs and blue pillows, provide a comfortable place for guests to sit. Hive LA Home toured this pool house in San Marino when it was being used as guest quarters, home office, and storage area. One bed, two tiny bathrooms (huh?) and a teeny tiny kitchenette, the space was not functional. Marrying the clients’ east coast ‘Hamptons’ aesthetic with the rich California architectural history of the neighborhood Hive LA Home made a space for both working and entertaining. New custom built-ins make plenty of office storage. A new kitchenette for hosting gatherings. Hive LA Home hid a pull out in the custom sofa that lets this little pool house sleep 6! Family-friendly materials throughout keep it from being too fussy: you can still saddle up to the bar in your wet towel for a margarita. Cheers!

With a brand-new gas range that hosts 6 burns and a griddle, makes an impeccable place for cooking multiple different types of food. The contrast of white and blue throughout is immaculate, white Dal Tile Niagara, crests like a waterfall over the custom blue peninsula that is the ideal spot for pulling up a chair and chatting with the chef as food is being made, maybe even sampling a bit.

This new kitchen is now a wonderful space for a chief to prepare their favorite meals or learn new ones. With a brand-new gas range that hosts 6 burns and a griddle, makes an impeccable place for cooking multiple different types of food.

Perfectly embedded on an acre of land overlooking a pond, in the heart of Willow Bend of Plano, this dated, traditional home got more than a complete facelift. The wife is a “farmer’s daughter” and could have never imagined having a home like this to call her own one day. Finding a 15’ dining table was a tall task… especially for a family of four. Using a local craftsman, the most gorgeous white oak table was created to host everyone in the neighborhood! The clients told a lot of stories about their past and children. The designer realized that the stories were actually treasures as she incorporated their memories and symbols in every room. She brought these memories to life in a custom artwork collage above the family room mantel. From a tractor representing the grandfather, to the Russian alphabet portraying the roots of their adopted sons and some Cambodian script, there were meanings behind each piece. In order to bring nature indoors, the designer decided to demo the exterior wall to the patio to add a large folding door and blew out the wall dividing the formal dining room and breakfast room so there would be a clear sight through to the outdoors. Throughout the home, each family member was thought of. The fabrics and finishes had to withstand small boys, who were extremely active. The use of outdoor fabrics and beautiful scratch proof finishes were incorporated in every space – bring on the hotwheels.

A home bar with seating for three is set off the Great Room, making the space perfect for hosting. Gray leather bar stools with chrome base perfectly match the ceramic horizontal tiles running along the back wall. Light wide plank wood floors are also used as cladding on the bar itself.
