What a fun project and what a beautiful home! This young growing family wanted high quality new cabinets throughout their new-build in Hinkley, MN. They had six spaces in the home that needed cabinetry and enlisted us here at The Cabinet Store to help! Not only did we help them with the design (much of it done efficiently long distance), but we were able to install all six rooms in one day! The homeowners wanted a transitional interior style for their home, a mix of modern and traditional. They wanted the overall look to be clean, contemporary, and warm. A mix of wood and painted cabinetry was the perfect fit to give off this polished, but cozy feel throughout the home. Selecting Showplace Wood’s Breckenridge door style throughout the whole home, and alternating the color tones (Soft Cream with Walnut glaze for some rooms and Cherry wood stained Coffee in other rooms), they got just what they wanted. Plus we custom made matching pieces for various rooms in our very own custom cabinetry shop to match the Showplace cabinets! The kitchen features a fun mix of the cream color cabinets on the top and bottom of the outer edges and the coffee toned ones on the island. And the entertainment center / shelving shown in the living room was custom made here at The Cabinet Store to match the cabinets of the kitchen island. Practical and beautiful!

When the client moved in to this house, updating the kitchen was a top priority. This offered us the perfect opportunity to reconfigure the layout. A pantry and closet were removed from the exterior wall, allowing for additional cabinetry, and a much brighter and open appearance. Lighting was upgraded, and new appliances were purchased. Decorá Custom cabinetry was chosen, in an Inset door style. A custom paint color was used, to match the existing Sherwin Williams ‘Alabaster’ millwork. The appliances are perfectly built in to custom-sized units for a seamless and flush appearance. The reverse-arch island includes cleverly angled cabinets, and a built-in microwave. The Butler’s Pantry has abundant storage, including drawers, display areas, and a wine shelf. Balancing the Butler’s Pantry, the range top area also features glass door cabinets, as well as abundant drawers, and hidden storage. It’s the details that make this kitchen such a showstopper! 9 foot ceilings allow for 12” of stacked crown molding through the whole kitchen. Classic bead board wraps the island, and serves to complete the Butler’s Pantry. The wine shelf includes a simple arch valance, an element that is repeated in the arched furniture base and the arch countertop supports. Mullion glass doors are an eye-catching addition. The cabinets are topped off with classic marble countertops, keeping the fresh light feeling; with a solid Walnut bar top as the stunning centerpiece. The Herringbone pattern of the backsplash tile offers subtle interest. Brushed nickel Finial hinges add a vintage look to the cabinets, as do the new light fixtures. The end result is an incredible transformation!

This room is so beautiful I had to use it as my website home page. The antique area rug is a family heirloom in which we based the whole modern craftsman design around. The homeowners original interior colors where fall colors in warm reds, yellows and greens. The wanted a lighter palette. We started by adding a cream colored sofa and loveseat. The custom plaid ottoman has two descrete drawers that pull out to hold drinks when one is laying on the sofa. An excellent and convenient feature. A round end table was placed in between the two rectangular shaped furnishings to break up the straight lines in the room. I also bought in some black color to add depth. Decorative pillows with a tan pattern add a nice design element to the room. The table lamp was sourced at a local antique mall and I had a black silk custom shade made for a touch of elegance. Plus, when the lamp is lit that shade gives off the best light. Art from a local artist and an antique ship painting compliment this room very well. This room to me is just perfect.

These cabinets are two colors, the base cabinets are gray and the top cabinets are white. There is a pot filler that we installed above the stove on the white subway tile as well. Our homeowners also wanted the ability to entertain so we added a custom eating bar table at the peninsula end of the countertop with high-top bar stools.
